Yeah The Shining is possibly one of the best books ever written, and in my opinion the best horror novel. The "sequel" to the shining is just publicity crap. King said that the only thing that will be related is that Danny Torrence will be the main character, but as an adult. That said, the story will not take place at the overlook hotel. It has nothing to do with the previous book. King puts him in a hospitol, and he is a worker there. He helps people cross over to the otherside. King said that he had that idea of somebody who helps others pass-on for a long while. He just took an idea he was going to do anyway, and weasled danny torrence's name into it, just piggybacking off of the success of the shining. sucks! i was so looking forward to that tale continuing. But without the overlook, i cant imagine. I am not trying to slam king, my childhood consisted of reading the shining, the stand, everything he wrote except eyes of the dragon which was crap.
