All smart people I know are smart because they made themselves a plan, gave themselves a target date to achieve something and then went for it. They didn't let anything get in their way and were prepared to give up things many people were not prepared to give up. Things like watching mindless TV; surfing the internet for hours; playing games for days on end; moaning about how lucky other people are; not spending money on clothes but on books.

Practice makes perfect. What you see as easy achievement is the result of years of sacrifice and practice. Just because you pissed away 10 years of your life before you got a clue doesn't mean everyone does this!

So stop moaning. Set yourself a target, make a plan and then keep on at it until you make it.
