Hours after NATO agreed on Tuesday to send Patriot missiles to Turkey because of the crisis in Syria, Russia delivered its first shipment of Iskander missiles to Syria.

The superior Iskander can travel at hypersonic speed of over 1.3 miles per second (Mach 6-7) and has a range of over 280 miles with pinpoint accuracy of destroying targets with its 1,500-pound warhead, a nightmare for any missile defense system.

Kissinger said there would be no Israel in ten years time.
If I lived there I would seriously think about relocating back to Europe or wherever it is I came from. Perhaps the Israel charade has already run its course with TPTB. Sad for the folks who live in that area of world, both pawns in a much larger game.

Are you fucking kidding me now? One day you make a thread saying that Assad is going to use chem weapons, then yesterday you had a thread pinned HE USED chem weapons....today again the goddamned story of Israel having diarrhea over possibly weapons going to Hezbollah....GOD DAMN you people are fucking retarded - this is all about drumming support together for legally arming the jihadis there...like they're not already doing that anyways.

Syrian rebels and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad clashed in Damascus, with some exchanges less than a mile from the presidential office amid an intensification of the 20-month civil conflict, an opposition group said.

Sporadic gunfire and explosions were heard in Salhiyeh, a neighborhood close to the president’s office, the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in an e-mail today. Fighting was also reported throughout the city, the Observatory said.

Assad “is no longer the president of Syria, he is the governor of Damascus,” Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, a professor of political science at the Emirates University in Al Ain, said in a telephone interview. The president is “holding on to his last territory in downtown Damascus.”

I don't buy it. Last verifiable count Syria had a standing army of 220,000 with double that in reserve. The also have over 3000 tanks and thousands of armoured cars. I believe this is western propaganda to encourage defection from the Syrian army.

any arms deliveries in Syria are very dangerous to our own from the west and Russia+East soon as FSA or any other 'soldier of the people' (note sarcasm) get a hold of them, this may also be a strong indication that Russia is more than likely going to back Assad strongly as I can't see them wanting the West to get a hold of those missiles or any terrorist for that matter, they aren't exactly RPG's....

Israeli ambassador: Chemical weapons passed from Syria to Hezbollah would be 'game-changer'

Read more: [link to www.foxnews.com]

Concern that Assad may have passed some chemical weapons to Hezbollah

There is growing concern that some of the chemical weapons the Assad regime has been pushing out of the Damascus area in the last few days were sent across the border to Hizballah strongholds in the Lebanese Beqaa Valley to keep them out of rebel hands. Syrian army officers who recently defected report that containers were last week removed from Syrian bases at Jabal Kalamon and loaded on vehicles camouflaged as commercial trucks. On the Lebanese side, the consignment is thought to have been split up and hidden at different Hizballah bases to make them harder to attack.

Israel’s US Ambassador Michael Oren, asked by a FOX TV interviewer Saturday Dec. 8, if he could confirm this, said he could not, but warned that any evidence of chemical weapons being passed from the Assad regime to extremist groups like Hizballah would be a "game-changer," and a "red line" for Israel. "We have a very clear red line about those chemical weapons passing into the wrong hands. Can you imagine if Hizballah and its 70,000 rockets would get its hands on chemical weapons? That could kill thousands of people."

Hey SZ86! cheers
That's a very interesting view man but it's obviously not reflecting the situation on the ground. What about the 2.5 million civilians Orthodox brothers of ours and the rest of the secular people that live in Syria and are hunted, kidnapped and murdered daily by jihadi death squads just for being christians and different? Plenty of reports about these death squads, not on western MSM off course. Shall we neglect them coz it's not on the daily MSM menu?

Baath party is an authoritarian regime no doubt about that, but it's definitely not radical muslim as you seem to believe, that's the rebels that are supported by the west. That's not to say that we should pick sides in this conflict, there are no saints in the ME man, not a single state or leader, none, but we should not distort the truth in this either, Syrian "civil war" is western imperialism supported through plain terrorism on the ground and nothing more than that. I'm surprised you see something else in it.

As for the Iskander told ya before that it's BS news to justify the Patriot deployment. Iskander/Syria is a 7 year old saga that ended last year in December with the last shipment of those missiles.

1419 GMT: A significant victory, and a problematic one, for the insurgents west of Aleppo. According to many sources, the Regime 111 base, near Sheikh Suleiman (map) was captured yesterday by Syrian insurgents. The base is over 2 square kilometers, and is actually larger than the town of Daret Ti'zzah, to the west:

View Syria - 10 December 2012 - EA Worldview in a larger map

This base was the only large military outpost west of Aleppo still in possession of the Assad regime. With its capture, and the capture of the 46 regiment base a few weeks ago, the insurgents essentially control all areas to the southwest, west, and north of Aleppo, and are now closing in on some of the key bases just east of the city.

Furthermore, large amounts of equipment, including anti-aircraft weapons, tanks, and artillery pieces, were stored on the base, and with this base captured the insurgents will now be able to focus this weaponry, and their previously captured equipment, on the remaining Assad bases inside and around Aleppo.

So why is this insurgent victory "problematic?" According to the videos we've seen so far, Jabhat al Nusra was responsible for capturing the base. Al Nusra is a hardline Islamist group with direct ties to Al Qaeda in Iraq.

Some videos show the magnitude of the base, as well as the equipment captured:

No, I'm talking about the Russians giving powerful ballistic missiles to Syria !

The west isn't Orthodox...

Those rockets can be armed with chemical weapons and cannot be stopped by Patriot or Iron Dome systems !

If one single rocket with a chemical warhead falls on an Israeli city...WW3 begins right there, cos Damascus is gonna get nuked and everything will go to shit from there uhoh !

So Syria will be nuked even if Israel false flags itself with some fake yellow smoke device?

A list of the top 24 countries, among the more than three dozen that are currently involved in sending weapons to Syria to achieve regime change include: USA, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Bahrain, UK, France, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Brazil, Portugal, Poland, Yugoslavia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, and Argentina.

Nearly two-thirds of the above listed arms suppliers are members of NATO and constitute almost half of NATO’s 28 country membership.

I highly doubt the veracity of this reaport.

I mean, even considering the well-known Russian tendency to exaggerate and even lie about the capabilities of their export weapons... Iskander really IS a bad-ass missile (even if all its claims of super-accuracy, 30 G therminal-phase maneuvering & warhead decoys are likely marketing-bullshit)

It's also true that Putin and Co. harbor an INCREDIBLE amount of Soviet-Union break-up BUTT-HURT toward the US/NATO/Israel.

However, I doubt Kremlin is run by complete retards.

1) Iskander is NOT going to help Assad against Jihadi rebels. That's just not how assymetrical insurgencies & terrorism work.

2) When Assad inevitably falls, Iskander missiles will end up in the hands of rebels/NATO/US/Sunni Gulf Monarchies, who would immediately analyze the state-of-the-art Russian missile. Way too big a risk.

3) It only encourages Assad to be more delusional and try to do something stupid. Ok, say he used a few (very expensive) Iskanders against Turkey, Jordan or even Israel. So Assad destroys a Patriot battery maybe kills a few dozen. What has he accomplished? He just pissed off major regional powers AND given US/UN pretext to invade/intervene.

4) Russia is too exposed here as it is. In short period of time, it has managed to piss off a friendly Obama/Clinton administration; NATO; scare the shit of Eastern-Europe....and of course get on the bad side of the check-writers of the world --- Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE.

Considering Russia has so many financial/economic insterests in the West.... Assad is not worth it. Not as he's about to FALL anyway....

Ya don't say.

Remember all the Libtards who were crying about "Bush lied"?

Well, of course Sadaam HAD chem WMD. He WANTED the world and Iran to believe he had them. He had actually used them against Kurds and others. In fact, coalition of the willing found some left-over stocks, which MSM of course didn't report....

Sadaam just was smart enough to smuggle out his main WMD caches to both Syria by ground convoys and as a special arrangement with his former nemesis, Iran -- by air.

That's one of the reasons his fellow Baath-Party dictator friends in Syria are sitting on a HUGE stock of chemical weapons. Which even Syria no longer denies they do, LOL!

LOL, Bush should have pulled the troops sooner, his generals should be blamed for some of the errors in planning.... but otherwise, America owes Dubya a HUGE apology. Even financial crisis had more to do with Jimmy Carter era sub-prime mortgage lending policies, Bill Clinton repealing the Glass-Steagal Act and massive Barney Frank's Fannie & Freddie cover-up....than with Bush, per se. Bush bailed out banks with TARP and saved the

Whereas Obama tripled Afgani war, continued Bush policies in Iraq, bungled the status-of-forces agreement with Maliki for 2012 -- in other words, Iraq war only ended when Bush negotiated it, and Obama failed to re-new American contingent presence.... and of course has given us the Lybia war, soon to be followed by Syria and Iran. And the economy is stagnannt despite huge Stimulus and most loose monetar policy in history (by comparison, Bush's TARP that saved the economic depression has already been REPAID by the big banks to American taxpayer almost fully!)

And uet Obama is worshipped like a cross between Messiah and Merylin Monroe.... while Bush is evil personified to most young people my generation. Just amazing irony!

But I digress :)

Next Hezbollah war will envolve 100,000 target bank strikes that effectively turns Iranian rocket launchers, command centers and bunkers/tunnel network into biggest Hezbollah/IRGC in history.
