North Korea Announces December 29 Launch Date for Rocket. US Sends Warships - Japan Issues Shoot-down Order!
North Korea says it is extending the launch period for a controversial long-range rocket by a week, until December 29th.

A spokesman for the North's Korean Committee of Space Technology told the official (North) Korean Central News Agency on Monday that scientists found a “technical deficiency in the first stage control engine module of the rocket.”

The committee said on Saturday that it was considering readjusting the timing of the launch, originally scheduled to take off between December 10th and 22nd.

Japan has threatened to shoot down the missile, if it goes off course and has deployed missile interceptors in preparation.

It'll never happen. The world will end on December 21, 2012. Everybody knows that.

The Japanese government has ordered its military to shoot down the missile that is expected to be launched by North Korea as early as Monday.

Three Japanese destroyers equipped with the advanced Aegis detect-and-destroy weapons system have been deployed in the Sea of Japan. The US has also stationed warships in the area to monitor the launch.

SEOUL, DEC 10:

A group of Iranian missile experts are in North Korea offering technical assistance with a planned long-range rocket launch condemned by the international community.

The Iranians were invited after Pyongyang’s last rocket launch in April ended in failure, the Chosun Ilbo newspaper said, citing a Seoul government official.

“A car seen at the... launch site has been spotted driving back and forth from the accommodation facility nearby. It is believed to be carrying Iranian experts,” Chosun quoted the unnamed official as saying.

I didn't mean to sound dumb, I'm just kind of shocked we are going to their shores. And I know how the rest of the world including us would be ready to fight over it if someone came near ours.
But North Korea is especially paranoid about that sort of action.

Um, who gives a fuck! So they can build rockets.

It isn't a problem until they hit someone. Seriously, the US tests a nuclear bomb recently and we don't see NK sending warships to the west coast.

BRUSSELS — EU foreign ministers said Dec. 10 that a planned missile launch by North Korea would be a “provocative act” in breach of U.N. resolutions and require an international response.

They said North Korea’s plan to launch a satellite would in effect be a ballistic missile test and break U.N. resolutions against Pyongyang developing such technology given its nuclear weapons drive.
