Asteroid to whiz by Earth and Moon December 11, discovered yesterday

Also, we don't ALways know what these things are entirely made up of.... some could be super dense materials earth has never seen and None of it could burn up.... It's just ignorant to make a comment such as yours with absolute certainty. That is all...

So since this is a condtion 7 asteroid meaning they are not sure of the trajectory, what part of the world would this thing impact? I am at work so can't do that calculations. Would it be a North America hit, Europe, Asia, Southern Hemisphere?

My understanding is that London may be able to see it pretty clearly. The east coast - maybe. So that tells me it'd be either around London or the Atlantic if there was going to be any fallout. Showtime in T minus 3 hours and 30 mins.

I didn't do the calculations myself, for either the time or the place. This is from another thread. I haven't seen anything factual.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure. Not anyone in the general populace without a telescope anyhow.

Personally, I'm not as worried about an impact from this as I am about potential earthquakes.

Your arrogant "NOTHING WILL HAPPEN EVER" statement discredits everything that was stated afterwards. If that was true then the many wars in the past would have never happened, the extinction event that killed the dinosaurs would not have happened, and the many other drastic changes to our earth would have never happened. Just because it hasn't happened in your lifetime doesn't mean it won't.

It just sounds like to me that keeping up with all this information is far too difficult for you. You would rather wait hand and foot on NASA discoveries to be spoon fed to you.

Did you take a look at the video over Texas posted in an earlier post.. the announcer said they figured that was the size of a basketball... this one is many time that size.. If it comes into our atmosphere it would be a spectacular flash seen by millions of people. Hopefully not a tanguska type flash.

DAMN! There have been a LOT of these lately that were discovered like a week or less before they "whiz by" earth. This one is close. VERY CLOSE. Pray that NOTHING disturbs it's projected orbit between now and the time it passes between the moon and earth (see, I told you it was close!)

That's true. It's safe from this one tonight. Though, it seems we may have a couple more rocks in the neighborhood while it's up there. I'm curious about its mysterious payload.
