State of California school system gets rid of books

:0612043::7491t9: I do. Behind all the fancy words is the fact that NWO cattle don't need a vocabulary of more than 600 words, and very basic maths. That's the price you pay when you sit their in silence and allow prayer and proper religious education to be taken out of the school system.

I fully agree with any and all of the replies above. The stupidity of this move is unequaled. We have been dumbing down the essential curriculum for 30 years now. I assume we are really looking at a cost saving measure here. The damn bean counters and supposed curriculum co-ordinators will be the death of what once was a stellar program.

The problem with getting people used to studying solely on laptops is that the knowledge can be taken away with the government's shiny "new" EMP missile. Paper books are far more resilient, except to fire.

I asked him why and he says they don't have any books. This amazed me so when I went to my sons 6th grade "open house" and asked his teachers if I could look through any books she was using to teach my child, she acted offended that I would even question what he was taught and proudly said that they had moved beyond books in the classroom and were using a newly revised teaching method. When I asked her how, as a parent, we can know what our child is being taught this way, she said with a wink...."You'll just have to trust us." The problem is too many fucking hispanic kids with parents who are Mexican nationals.

They speak Spanish all day, then get to school and can't speak fucking English.

They bring everyone else in the class down.

Why? Because they made you buy them in the school bookstore? I've gone through that myself. What a lot of schools are doing is publishing "custom" books for a course. That made me so angry, I got a used book, by the same publisher, which had essentially the same information, and had the instructor mark it up for me so it matched the "custom" book which cost FIVE times as much! Since many of my classmates weren't actually paying for their books because they are multigenerational welfare freeloaders, they didn't care about the cost. I did.

Books are the only thing keeping everybody honest.

Too much is edited with use of computors.

They are rewriting everything.

Keep your old books. Thay are the only real truth left.

Then there was the school-board meeting I attended where there was a complete computer presentation of a new method of teaching that is now being implemented in the schools.

I had no idea what they were talking about.

They explained classes would be reconfigured, curriculum content was being revised, teachers are being retrained on how to teach and what to teach, how every student would have a laptop, books were to be virtually phased out – but some new books would be created for this whole new education system.

We were told it would take a couple of years to get everything in place, but by the time that happens, it would be in every school and every grade in California."

So books and outdated teaching methods are being blamed.

Are they sure a certain change of mentality in pupils and parents didn't play a part in it ?

And pres. Obama, according to the article, seems to be mighty proud of this "accomplishment."

It's so strange. My niece is in school in California in the 2nd grade and they are teaching algebra and geometry.

I didn't learn Algebra until 7th grad and Geometry until 8th.

This has ZERO to do with religion and prayer.

If anything, those are a detriment to the educational system.

You're reinforcing archaic forms of thinking by pushing religion.

Atheism is the evolution of mankind in regard to philosophy and our spiritual outlook on the Universe.

Extremely unusual. My kids, back in the 80s were being shown Walt Disney cartoons to fill up their classes when they were seniors in high school here in Oregon---the same dang cartoons they had seen the three years before! Even worse, being indoctrinated with wrong values. Teachers and counselors relished tearing down morality and Christian values--that seemed to be the only reason they wanted our kids in the school system.

Stop teaching them to memorize and instead teach them to think and apply all to what their own minds relate apply it to...

Find the why in all things instead of demanding the what.

Who cares if you can camp out the what from your forced into memory even to the question on a test giving me an answer....even by this same old worn out tired of repetitive way action memorized.


Who cares is you know how....to give me a what.

You give me the why to all that is.

Then you apply that why to what ever comes out of your own mind spontaneously with the what standing as the conclusion.

You step out the way your own way...

You give me the what your own what...

Home school in hell apply this to all from humanities to math to writing to acting to war to construction to government to economics.

No such thing as honoring ancient peoples and places honoring history in every thing you do or are shown..
No need in glamorizing and worshiping the man or woman who had a thought..

This is a waste of time...and misdirected character.

Who cares about what is not any more....it is gone long gone.

Who care about what they did or have...whats that got to do with you.
