Firefox is almost as fast, but gives you a lot more options in the form of add-ons. Whatever you use just don't use google or facebook, unless you want to be constantly tracked, and have these companies collecting realms of data on you... For a search engine just use startpage.com... uses the same algos as google without constantly tracking your every move.
