While normally I would support donations to any group that provides aid to those in need, I currently have some friends here in Mindanao who really need some help fast and their situation is dire. They have been without food and clean drinking water for 7 days now and I lost contact with them on Saturday when their cell phone battery finally died.I am heading that way within hours and trying to fill the truck I have available with as much relief supplies as possible so I am making a last minute appeal to everyone I can reach. I am being as transparent as possible by posting a link to my facebook page and I can assure everyone that 100% of the money donated will go directly to this family and others in his community. Any amount you can spare will help tremendously. Once again, Donations can be made via paypal to mindanaoproject@live.com or one of the links I have on my profile.You can donate even if you do not have a paypal account. Even $5 would go a very long way here.

We have been working hard here the past two weeks trying to recover from Typhoon Bopha. The recovery has been slow as things do not move too fast in a third world country, and the money going through government agencies and large organizations has to go through a lot of hands before it reaches the people. Even two weeks following the storm the Hospital in Baganga(Population 40,000+) still has no roof and only one doctor on staff. I have been making regular runs to Baganga from Davao City transporting medical supplies and food to this remote town. Every day here there are infants and elderly dying from dehydration and diarrhea because they lack the simplest of medications.
