I know. I feel the same way but they are trying to document what happens if there is no intervention so we can see what happens. And who is going to get that baby from that big cat? That would be dangerous and they might not have had any provisions for that baby anyway. You can't film a documentary and then keep intervening. It would be hard in the beginning but maybe the people filming just get use to the harshness of nature and accept how it is. Maybe if the cat had just gone off and abandoned it they might have done something or just let nature/hyenas have a meal. They need to eat and have families as well.

No. Maybe it's hard but it's better to not intervene. That's nature, and when human intervene, they often don't understand the consequences.
A simple example : Feeding birds in your backyard can seems nice and good for the birds, but ultimately, it's not.
If everyday you give food for birds, birds wil get used to it. And when they will have chicks, they will show them your place as THE place to have food. Then if you move or if you die, the birds will not be able to find food by themself anymore, and they will die.
