Starting a diet, these are my problems... Ideas?
So I am going to go on a diet starting tommorrow but right now Im kinda up in the air on what diet I should go on. I been having alot of health problems let me describe these...

1: If I do anything physical *run/liftweights* I am severly sore for a good week afterwards.

2: I have these stomach cramps, cramps on my side *above and below rib cage*.

3: Bumps all over the place, scalp, stomach and underarms. I also noticed some of these bumps have what to appear to be small hairs growing out of them that can be easily pulled out but will come right back.

4: Blood pressure is high.

What is the best diet I can go on that is going to help me lose weight fast *and healthy* and lower my blood pressure because I need to lose a good 100 pounds.

Thanks for the help.

I lost 50 pounds following a low carb diet. Reduced sodium lowered my blood pressure so meds not required. I eat lots of meat and veggies, no grains, 25 g carbs a day or less. Should work out more, mostly just walking on treadmill.

watch your carbs - they are the devil. they will trigger your appetite via insulin production. cut sugar, junk and fast foods. try to keep what carbs you do eat to fresh fruits, veggies, salads and nuts and seeds. for excercise walk one way 15 mins and then turn around and go back...work up to 30 mins. buy two 5 pound dumbbells and start with those for basic weight training (bi's, tri's, shoulders, upper & lower back, chest, etc. squats and lunges for legs (if you can't do those yet...do step ups 60 each leg. most importantly - don't give up...keep at it. if you slip up - let it go, it's in the past. the next meal you have is your chance to get it right again. good luck. i know it's hard...been there, done that and all.

Truth is diets are the worst thing you can do

You need to change your life style

You need to understand who you are before you change yourself

You are a light being and in order for you to survive you need light

Stop eating ANYTHING that is processed already. Eat only LIGHT foods, veggies, fruits, beans. These foods are still alive, they can be replanted into the grown and grow. You cant replant a piece of meat the ground.

Love Yourself Regardless, your temple is a gift, the best gift you've ever been given. Treat it right because you are the queen/king of that temple.

Stay safe.

Do not touch ONIONS GARLIC PEPPER ALCOHOL they are all toxic and kill all the bacteria including good in your system. (people don't realize this at all) Eliminate wheat, SUGAR and go on a celiac type of diet. Use only Himalayan salt..You will feel a million times better after only 1 WEEK.

If you haven't exercised in a while, then there will be a general soreness within the muscles that you begin to exercise and it will usually last for 2 weeks or so until the muscles begin to adjust to the stress that's put on them. Maybe you just need to push through it a bit more if your health will allow you to OP.

Paleo Diet and Wheat Belly Diet are two books that will help a lot. It's very simple as long as you do all the cooking at home. Outside of the house, it's tough to avoid carbs but try and limit as much as possible. Chicken sandwich from whataburger is one example that you can get. No fries. Calorie free drinks like iced tea.

Paleo diet looks like this..

steak, boiled veggies and sliced avocado. Mix up meat (fish, chicken, pork, etc) and mix up veggies every night.

For working out... start out slowly. Maybe just one set of push up few times a week. Gradually add extra reps then sets.

Take 400 mg of magnesium citrate, chelated or malate a day.
5000 IU of vitamin D a day is a MUST.

1) walk and swim (ymca for swimming if there is one local) or treadmills. The slower the pace, the longer you will need to work out. Yoga should also help with muscle stiffness.
2) avoid big meals or sugary drinks before aerobic exercise. If you are going slow as per #1 then this wont be a problem.
3) ingrown hairs. Not sure of the relevance to diet and exercise. Where loose cotton or breathable clothes (dont wear cotton outside in winter in cold climates). Shower, use natural soap. Use a loofa and scrub. Shave less and shave with the grain not against.
4) Exercise and healthy eating will fix this.

Eat fruits and veggies but avoid root veggies, corn, gmo. Avoid wheat. Breads, etc. Oils, meats, nuts, beans, legumes, are fine. Cheese in moderation. Salt in moderation.

The idea that you are going to flip a switch and change your life just like that is unlikely. There will be cravings and urges and without thinking ahead and preplanning what you will do when an urge strikes, then you are planning to fail.

You havent even figured out which diet you will be going on which suggests a sort of starvation diet will result. Im going to caution you against any sort of starvation diet.

Good diets take time to research and will take more than a day to plan out. First, it is a lifestyle change; a sort of shift in your own paradigm. If you have any weak moments it wasnt a shift in paradigm and was only a diet and you will gain the weight back.

Basically, your liver stores carbs as glycogen starch, and your body will use this for fuel. The only way to burn fat is to deplete the glycogen.

sounds like you might be low on protein and your muscles aren't balanced out. if you can afford it get yourself a trainer and hell know whats best for diet and fitness. don't go to a mainstream gym find yourself a private trainer who knows his stuff.

stop eating wheat and processed food, i lost 100 lbs in a year ONLY doing that....but it means actually committing to being healthy and learning how to cook and stuff.

i have also helped a lot of people go on the same diet and they are ALL slim, happy, vibrant, from being fat, unhappy, and having a plethora of physical complaints.

the bumps can be a sign of a food allergy. 'pimples' on the ass, or 'assne,' is a sign of corn and/or wheat allergy. with a wheat allergy it is accompanied by an exercise-induced asthma.

Re: Starting a diet, these are my problems... Ideas?
To lower blood pressure, lower salt/sodium intake. That means avoid most canned soups, foods, and bullion cubes. If you look at the sodium content of these, you'll see that many of them have your entire daily maximum of sodium in just one can or one bullion cube. 2400 mg has been the maximum allowed sodium per day, but I read they may have changed that recently to 1500.

Sorry, but eliminate all fast foods and store bought ice creams. BEST TIP: When you are out driving about, take along a baggie of fresh fruits, or vegetables, or nuts. I used to take a baggie of cut up celery, carrots, small tomatoes, and whatever else I had, like red cabbage (I love), cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, etc. So every time I Saw a Baskin Robins or MacDonalds and had the impulse to stop, I'd dig into that bag instead.

I would say that trick of having vegetables at my side no matter where I went, -and always a bottle of water - was a big part of losing weight. Drinking water all day helps fill you as well as remove toxins from all the junk food left over in your body.

NEXT TIP: Another big part was, never let yourself get hungry. When you get really hungry, you'll eat anything and could care less (well, that's me, anyway). So better to munch all day on low calorie foods then gorge when you can't stand it any more.

Try to eat at least an ounce of almonds or other nuts a day, to get some oils, some minerals like Magnesium and calcium. Some of your problems may be due to mineral deficiencies. For aches and pains, take a bath in epsom salts. This also allows your skin to soak up magnesium.

Try to eat a little more fish. Meat is fine but don't fry it in oil; broil when possible.

THIRD TIP: I cut out little things first. Sounds silly, but here was my thinking: OK, one pat of butter is 100 calories. Not putting that butter on the potato, or just one pat instead of three. Learned to eat a boiled egg without salt! One can of soda is 160 calories, so cut that out (I drank several a day). Made iced tea with xylitol or stevia for sweetening instead. Hmm, 2 TB of this salad dressing is 180 calories. I'll try something else. In one day, you can easily cut out 500 calories just in the little stuff.

When I was dieting (I lost 40 lbs in 3 months), I cut out bread, homemade hamburgers, and pasta during that time. Instead I went for rice, millet, kamut, stuff like that. I learned that bread was what was causing acid reflux for me.

I stopped eating Marie Calendar's frozen meals, which I loved. But one Fettucini Pasta was no longer enough for me...I was eating two, for one meal. That was 1500 calories for one meal. By the way, when they list vitamins on frozen meals, I suspect those are the vitamin contents for the ingredients BEFORE they get pasteurized, cooked, and frozen! Cooking destroys many vitamins and the enzymes that help your body digest each food. That's one reason raw vegetables and fruits are so good for you...you get everything nature intended (if they haven't irradiated it).

So really look at what you are eating. If it doesn't contain necessary vitamins and minerals, in other words, if it's just empty calories, then cut it out. Replace it with something healthy.

So what did I eat during this time? Lots of carrots and red cabbage, but I really like that. After a while it becomes a treat. Lots of eggs, boiled, scrambled, whatever. Much less cheese and butter. More raw fruits and vegetables. Often a meal of 1 oz cheese, a bunch of nuts, and several pieces of fruit. Organic (non-GMO) granola with Kefir, because I don't like milk. Sometimes I would add almonds, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, etc to that. Some steaks, salmon, chicken, organic when I could afford it, to avoid getting the excess hormones, sodium nitrate, and GMO from the GMO grains fed to the animals. We don't know how much of our health problems stem from these.

What I found was that in eating things that had real nutrition, I ate less. My body didn't crave the same things within 3 months of this.

So, it's really a new way at looking at what you eat and why you eat it. You sort of have to throw out "I eat it because it tastes good and I like it!" and replace it with, I eat it because it fills me, gives me the vitamins and minerals and nutrition I need, and I am losing weight!

Is there an alternative to the baked potato? Or, do I need to add so much butter and cheese to that potato? Think about every food you put in your mouth.

You still need some fat, but for oils, use butter (not margarine), or coconut oil, for cooking. Don't use canola or soy. Olive oil is good, but much of it, even virgin, is now cut with soy or canola, and you can't tell.

oh also often the bumps especially on the arms can be related to an essential fatty oil deficiency. omega 3-6-9 in ratio (look it up). deficiency of omegas can cause schizophrenia symptoms.

You sound like you already eat unhealthy.

Order some Beyond Tangy Tangerine and some Enerfoods, mix the 2, and stop eating wheat, processed meats or sugars, and don't drink soda.

Look for organic food only, and take the beyond tangy mixed with enerfoods once or twice a day, depending on your needs.

The BTT has all vitamins, minerals, and 3-6-9 amminos, all derived from plant material. The enerfoods has the top 20 superfoods that there are, all mixed together. A superfood is a food which has several key characteristics.

Look into what the top 10 or 20 superfoods are, and check out Dr. Joel Wallach on youtube. Some people will knock his products or him, but you judge the tree by it's fruit.

I stand by him and his products, and you can get an idea of my character if you happen to click my username here and scan my posts or post replies.

This combo is literally the best stuff there is. The guy is a 4 phd doctor, but the haters call him only 'a vet' because he happens to be a Veterinary MD. He is also a Medical Physician, Pathologist, and holds a PhD in agriculture.

Don't knock it until you try it. Because even if you eat only organic, the fields have already been stripped of their nutrients - so you must supplement.

OP I started on the blood type diet and my arthrtis is just about cleared up. Been on this diet less than two weeks. I was taking advil 800mg twice daily. Now I take it about every 4 days, and the dose has been cut way down. Two tablets will do it. I figure the day is coming where I can completly stop the advil. Oh and I have lost 7.8 pounds in less than two weeks.

Hope this helps you decide which diet to go on.

One other thing I started eating as well: All kinds of beans, usually made into soup with tomatoes and herbs and other vegetables, and just a little meat.

If you soak your beans overnight, then rinse before cooking them, you will not get gas.

Beans move through your body well, providing the fiber you need, as well as protein.

The best way to lose weight does come down to: you control your own food supply. That means no processed/prepacked food mixes. Know what's in the food on your table. Cook it yourself.

Ok, first of all...if you have high BP, take your meds and see your doc regularly. Never run out of meds. Ever.

Next, ask your doc what he/she advises for your physical situation. If you have limitations per your physician's advice, obey these restrictions.

Sounds like you need to cleanse your system given your data regarding the bumps and such. I AM NOT A DOCTOR...but I would advise you to drink a lot of water, eat as cleanly as possible (omit sugars, processed foods, processed meats, fast foods, hydrogenated oils and fats, junk foods, sweets, and sodas) and try to take your foods as close to their natural state as possible. Take a psyllium supplement to get things moving out of your system. Research some other cleansing supplements and see if any of them sound good to you.

I can't say that I have ever been overweight in my life, but I have lost 10 lbs. of dead weight by kicking alcohol out of my life (empty calories), ending my fast food addiction and vowing to never eat that garbage again, and doing my best to stay away from junk foods. I admit, I'm still a sucker for doritos and butter cookies, but they are not my daily or weekly foods. More like a treat every now and then.

Learn how to like RAW vegetables. This is a biggie. I now snack on bags of those vegetable medleys, with raw cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. I just eat them like they are chips. It took me a long time to like them.

Tea. Hot or cold...DO NOT USE SUGAR. Drink it. It's good for your metabolism. I recommend pu-erh or green.

Do what you can so far as exercise. Walking is good. I did enough running in the military and unless a rotweiller of the holice are chasing me, I am not planning on doing anyone's running. The shit is overrated anyway. You can get the same benefits walking. Start easy and take it slow. Incorporate some push ups, bicycles, pull ups and squats as you get more and more fit. It will tone you up.

Good luck.
