What actual function is has? We've come a long way in examining such phenomena but we don't really know what this universe is all about, we could be in a cell floating in some unknown being's body for all we know. ummmm.... Blacks holes are just celestial bodies that suck in stuff with it's immense gravity, just like earth is trying to "pull" us into it's center of mass. Black holes form when a large star (larger than ours) dies, however it is incapable of keeping itself stable while it burns out, it implodes and the core becomes crushed, thus increasing it density. When it reaches this point, there is no going back. The core of the star begins to fall into itself, become ever more dense thus increasing the rate of compression and thus increasing the density. At one point, all the mass of the star's core is focused into a small point a fraction of the size it used to be. The gravity has become so powerful, there is nothing in the universe we know that can escape it's grip once it passes the "event horizon" aka "point of no return" (excluding the radiation the black hole gives off). As for it's function, it has none. It just eats. First it begins eating rocks and planets, it soon steps up and begins eating entire stars. Soon it can become so massive, it could become the core of an entire galaxy, in which the black hole's gravity keeps the galaxy from falling apart. Black holes of this magnitude are called super-massive black holes. These black holes aren't described in lbs, ounces, tons, giga tons, nothing like that. No.... these monsters are described in stellar masses. AKA: How many stars it has eaten. Some of these monstrosities have eaten BILLIONS of stars. We know a lot about black holes to be honest..... |

This is not hawking radiation. It's being emitted by the acreition disk that is around the black hole. Hawking radiation is a very very small amount of radiation a black hole gives off over time, which eventually (Over trillions of years) reduces it's size until it's gone. |

Similar to putting radioactive materials together beyond critical mass to the point that the potential energy becomes so great it is released in an explosion. One big bang after another like a giant perpetual energy machine breaking all rules of physics because the rules of physics do not exist without it. |

At best, the image is unexplained phenomena. They have to fudge the numbers to make black holes fit into physics by basically adding a magical number from thin air. Quoting: Defj@m Maybe in 10 or 20 years we'll look back on the black hole theory and chuckle about how wrong we got it. Still a very cool phenomena to think about though, don't get me wrong! IF you're referring to General relativity and it's solution that includes black holes existing, then again, there's plenty of evidence. General relativity is a quite solid theory. I got about 2 minitues into the youtube video you linked before the annoying voices and bad Photoshop effects annoyed me to turning it off. The short of it is, he's wrong though. General relativity can violate special relativity, because general relativity covers a broader subject then special relativity. It does several times. |

All the universe created just for us. Quoting: HangDawg WTF told you that? you don't really believe that, do you? Im sure it was sarcasm. But what the hell I agree. Seeing as Im in the holiday spirit I will put it you this way. .. Lets say we have a large christmas tree .. oh about the size of a National friggin Forest. Then lets try to lively it up a bit. Oh I dunno .. how about a single decoration about the size of a Cherry. Decoration time over ! Oh and by the way lets put that single decoration on an average tree. Not even the largest or oldest one..nor the greenest one...just your basic run of the mill tree somewhere in the forest. Mmm K. Now lets look at this from a few angles here .. Get an outsider that has no clue about what is actually In the forest. Put him facing towards our little cherry Decoration. Then turn him around and show him how big the forest actually is. Ask the guy .. "hey..think there are any more any more cherry sized decorations out there ?". He would probably say one of a few things. 1.Yea probably seeing how large the forest is. 2.Nope this one has to be the one and only one in the forest. 3.What the fuck is a decoration ?. Ok.. Now lets say you take that same guy ( never been to the forest ) and put him in some random location. Now ask him "hey buddy .. think there are any decorations out in the forest? Take your time man.. look around for a bit I'll be back later for your answer". He looks around for about 1 billion years and sees NO decorations. So you come back and say "Well..whats your answer ?" Again his answer could follow a few different paths.. 1.Doubt it .. havent seen nothing yet. 2.I dunno .. could only check 5 trees limb by limb. 4.What the fuck is a decoration?. My point being is that statically speaking there should be No life in the universe Whatsoever compared to Vast amount of life if there ever was ONE form of life. Oh and I forgot .. the guy looking for that one decoration had to be looking in a forest that was locked in a single second of time. ( cant be having new trees and shit growing after he looked there .. not really fair to him ). Now practically speaking I know it would be physically difficult to traverse large areas of space ( galaxy to galaxy ) to meet new forms of thinking life forms. But its not very logical to say Life does not exist anywhere else in the universe. I think some of you dont really understand how large the Cosmos is. As far as Why a black hole ( massive or not ) can expel matter and energy. I think its due to its size Vs. intake of matter/energy. If gravity pulls in too much energy at one time .. well then it would have nothing to do with the black hole. It would have to do with micro novas being created. The Black Hole would not actually capture the energy just yet .. just draw it in closer and closer till the point that massive amounts of matter collapsed on its own if large enough and thrusts outward on its own path of least resistance. Think about it. |
