You guys all sound like fucking junkies..

It's still a GODDAMN DRUG...you don't have to get high forever and ever ever..

I already said I love weed with all my goddamn soul, Ive devoted a huge part of my life to it.. spent probably hundreds of thousands on it.. defended it till death to parents/peers.. wrote papers about MJ legalization in college..

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19175422

A "huge part of my life" is 7 years? Maybe, if you're under 17. I've been smoking since I was 12...that puts me at 27 years, or almost 4x your experience and nearly 2/3 of my existence. I eat like crap, rarely exercise, smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. I also did lots of LSD as a teen, too.

Now, at 39, I have two healthy, intelligent children and no health problems(other than aching joints), much less the things you've stated. I highly suggest you get another opinion on what is causing your symptoms and please, stop propagating the marijuana myth.

It started hurting me. Period. Like I said, I work out everyday, I only eat healthy food, my family are health nuts who only buy gluten-free wholefoods stuff, I never eat junk food, sodas, alcohol, or anything else.. WTF else am I doing wrong that could possibly affect me other than smoking a shitload of weed?

For the past month or so, immediately after I smoke, Ive been getting HORRIBLE heartburn.. culminating in what I can only describe as a heartburn-attack yesterday.. it never happened before, if it wasn't for it I would be here dickriding weed to hell with all you guys.. I'm getting tangible negative effects frmo ingesting this drug, I can't put it any more in black and white..

You guys are brainwashed if you can't accept the fact that MJ is not absolutely perfect and it can actually hurt you.. nothing in this world is perfect, nothing is harmless.. ppl get SOO offended about it.. Im not telling you guys to quit smoking, I'm tryng to connect with those who WANT to quit because they've experienced problems.. you guys can keep going all you want.. smoke for 80 years if you want, act like nothing is wrong with it.. I, along with many other ppl, just cant do it anymore...

Dude just get some prilosec and no more heartburn. You have GURD. Its common. I doubt the heartburn or IBS is caused from the weed but probably from a host of other things, GMO food. If it was more people would be complaining of it. Change your diet. Everything in moderation.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1230442

I've spent hundred of $ on prilosec and nexium over the years. Gave up coffee and pop and anything pickled, still suffered horribly. I'm a girl btw. not that it matters but on a lark, I tried Famotidine/Pepcid. OMGosh I feel like a new person, haven't had any problems and I can drink wonderful coffee again and I had some sweet cherry peppers. So good! I even had pizza!!!! My life is so much better now. I can sleep and not wake with hb in the night, :)

I loved the stuff for many years, but suddenly I developed panic attacks/ anxiety along with restlessness. It's not enjoyable anymore. Very strange how my body suddenly does not like it even though I would like to be able to enjoy it again.

yep same happened to me. I smoked dapurps (my faourite strain) for years and all of a sudden my body turned against it. tried switching up strains but didn't work.

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
Been smoking for 7 years, every.single.goddamn.day, without fail.. I used to smoke heavily during the day and then heavily during the night due to the brutal insomnia, over the past 6yrs or so I've been battling with IC, IBS, and lots of other symptoms relating to my bodys mechanisms.. I knew in the back of my head they were being caused by the MJ, my body feels so intoxicated frmo all the smoke, I have to piss and shit constantly because my body feels like it's rotting on the inside, my skin became discolored, patchy, I developed rosacea and age spots on my face(im only 26) I've lost the sense of smell, my nose is constantly clogged and it feels like my sinuses are so swollen they touch my brain, every morning I cough so hard I nearly puke, feels like lung cancer and it only goes away when I get the first toke of the day, not to mention the emotional symptoms such as depression, anxiety, etc.. the past few months I reached a tipping point, no longer could I enjoy it because I would get brutal heartburn everytime I smoke, I can tell weed has destroyed my stomach's mechanisms and now it's making my stomach acid come up every single time I smoke.. I used to smoke to deal with these problems even though I knew smoking was the cause.. due to weed's ability to somehow 'settle your stomach', as soon as the high is gone I was left with pain though, so I was stuck in a relentless vicious circle..

Yesterday I smoked and had heartburn so bad I was about to go to the ER because I thought I couldn't breathe and I was gonna die, it lasted hours and hours.. I'm still recovering from it, I feel like I've destroyed my body with smoke and it can no longer handle it.. I love weed, I love the feeling, I love how it picks me up when I feel down, but it's hurt me so much, it's like loving a woman who cheats on you.. setting a substance on fire and inhaling it will NEVER be good for your body.. and I've only smoked regular weed a handful of times in my life, I always smoke super high-grade stuff, it doesn't matter, it's still smoke and chemicals..

Today I decided to quit weed, please wish me luck...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19175422

I have to ask - if someone has a beer or 2 (or even.. GASP... 3) a night, and claimed to still be healthy, would you claim that there is "obviously" something wrong with them - both emotionally and physically? Would you claim they were being "self-destructive"?

Bottom line - do you believe that weed is more harmful or less harmful than alcohol?

The only reason someone would quit weed is if they couldn't afford it anymore.

You must be in real bad shape sir.

Come on guys, of course weed is safer than alcohol, by a very wide margin.

Weed has never killed anyone, whereas alcohol kills 80,000 a year in the USA.

Alcohol also has the most dependence-liable pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics, of any drug. Read: ANY drug.

Weed is very safe, but pretending like it can never do anything bad to anyone is just laughable. I stopped smoking weed because it started causing panic attacks for me, although I certainly don't have a problem with anyone else smoking.

Who's pretending?

Cannabis has been under a ridiculous amount of scrutiny designed to find scientific-sounding reasons as to why it is the "boogeyman". But science doesn't lie, and every single claim of an objective negative effect has fallen flat on its face, sometimes to the embarrasment of the authirities involved.

You started getting panic attacks because cannabis is mind-expanding, and it has been drilled into your head that there is "something bad" about this plant humans have used for thousands of years.

How can you make these judgments on the status of my health? I have a nasty habit of rejecting the status quo, especially when it comes to "health" and what its ever-changing definition means.

My "self-destruction" as you put it, has netted me a nice home, great kids, and a successful business(that I built from scratch). I made lots of difficult decisions while high and sober alike. There is a time and a place for each.

Please, just because you personally can't handle weed, don't project your inadequacies onto me. This big boy has proven he can bark with the big dogs.

I quit about a week ago now.

Still going strong!

I found the hardest part is explaining to your friends your quitting. Some friends really take offense when you don't partake in a toke with them. Just explain that your quitting weed and don't have a problem if they smoke, you just want them to respect and honor your decision to quit. One of my friends gave up smoking cigs when I told him I was quitting herb, makes it easier when you know someone else is going through it too.

You can do it! hf

Ha! Reefer Madness no doubt! And for anyone getting ready to use a "gateway drug" argument, you should know that Heroin use and addiction was, when anti-heroin propaganda began, said to lead one directly to the devil's weed. "Avoid Heroin the Gateway Drug!"

Really is the best thing to do.

One of the most horrible side affects is it has you looking down a lot when you should be looking at who you are talking to and not let thier "magik" sidetrack you. Magic by definition is misdirection, you know, nose jobs, makeup, spiked hair, etc, etc, etc....

Pay close attention to that spot just between the eye brows as you do.

At least stop smoking it, even if you don't quit all the way... If you don't want to buy a vape just make some cookies and eat it. Smoking anything is no good... People with copd usually have all kinds of stomach problems also. Not saying you have it but it's possible. You might want to go to the doctor and have some breathing tests done.

I used to smoke weed and it would give me bad anxiety, rapid rapid heart rate, it would make me think I was dying etc etc but I still smoked on and built up tolerance. Now I can't smoke because some evil force fucks with me HARD core when I'm stoned, I mean marijuana is like Morpheuse's red pill. I still get sh*t from that force when I'm sober but being high under marijuana is just unbearable, and I refuse to give some entity a way to have that much of a grip over me.
