Garrett told officers that the 7-year-old told the 11-year-old to "show her your piece" and the 11-year-old lifted his shirt and showed her the gun.

"They told me they had a gun and I asked if it was real, and they said 'you don't ever ask if a gun is real,'" Garrett told KGW Sunday. "There was a lot of curse words and at first I thought they were just punk kids. I didn't think it was a real gun until he showed me the bullets."

Garrett refused to give up her truck, so the kids demanded her phone and money, telling her they couldn’t leave without something and threatened to shoot her, Simpson said.
"They told me they were going to blow my brains out if I didn't give them something," Garrett said.

"My heart was beating a million miles an hour. I definitely didn't think I was going to get out of there alive. I thought I was going to die."

Garrett didn’t give them anything. Instead, she drove away and called police. As she was driving, she saw the 11-year-old pull the gun out.

"It's crazy. It seems like something you would see on CSI," she said. "God was obviously protecting me."


"In almost 20 years of police work, I've never heard of anything like this," Simpson said. "Not only was it young kids with a gun, but the attitude that came out of the kids and the kind of criminal aura that was being displayed is just unbelievable.

I'll give you one guess...

While local TV station KATU was interviewing the woman, one of the boys walked up to them.

They blurred out his face, but you can see he is a white, blond boy.

That boy was allowed to come back to the church????

If it was him, he should of went into the church and sat down..


Simpson said due the boys’ ages, they cannot be taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home. They were both left with their parents.

The boys would be taken to the juvenile detention center and face Measure 11 crimes if they were 15, Simpson said.

It’s unclear where the 11-year-old boy got the handgun. Robbery detectives are investigating the case.

"Eventually, I want them to be able to come to the church and have some faith," said Garrett. "I want them to have a brighter future because they're not going anywhere bright right now. They're just going down a really bad path."

I cannot believe the 11 year old walked right up to the reporter and the woman he tried to rob the day before!
