I mean there are other cool places to visit...but to live, I'd rather be here than anywhere else. Formerly:Negan,Rick Grimes, Heisenberg,Charlie Scene, Evan. |

Almost all other nations tax their citizens based on place of residence. For example, when I worked in the Middle East, I established non-residency for UK tax purposes, and got to keep everything I earned (there are no personal taxes in most ME countries). Even if an American decides to renounce his/her citizenship, the IRS still goes after them for 10 years after the renunciation. |

Personal experience: Rich Cousin moved to Phillippines, married a hot girl half his age, got Dange fever, recovered, then got it again, supposedly from the blood transfusions from the first run, died. I'd rather get screwed by our government then get a fatal disease. |

Why would anyone still keep a company when they could just leave? If you are getting taxed like half of what you make, what's the point? |
| <<FOCUS>> (OP) User ID: 660580 12/10/2012 02:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, i used that thinking about business owners who stay in business even after they are taxed out the ass. I just dont know why anyone would keep a company going here if they already had enough to live comfortably for the rest of their life. |
| <<FOCUS>> (OP) User ID: 660580 12/10/2012 02:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Fiji, then move around. Not sure i would "live" anywhere. i think I would just rent houses, stay for awhile and then try someplace new. I love the US, but if i had a business and the Govt was taxing me 50% for what I make, I'd sure as hell just close down before i gave 50% of my profit to the Govt just because i was more successful and worked harder than someone else. That's complete BS |
| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 660580 12/10/2012 02:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And "Fair Share" Think about that for a minute. So poor people vote for someone who wants to tax the shit out of the rich. So the poor are voting to take the rich people's money. Voting for someone who will give them, (Steal for them)money someone else earned. |

There is no 'wealth tax'. Why do you think all those uber-rich folks are hobnobbing with P'BO? Rarely do they have any what we would consider normal taxable income. That's why the tax the rich, class warfare game has those supporters. The tax-the-rich just keeps new rich people out of the club. (and there's not enough money there to do squat with the federal budget anyway) Adversity is inevitable, misery is optional. Do or do not. There is no try. Why not sell everything and move to a warm place and live out your days? I know I would. Quoting: <<FOCUS>> 660580 If you had this mentality, my guess is you wouldn't be "super-rich" or as soon as you had enough wealth to live on comfortably, then you would sell out/bug out. For most elitists its the control and feeling more powerful than others, they need the exposure its part of their identity to feel dominant. |
