so true, the internet hate mob were horrific and make me despise the majority of humanity. It was a crap prank, but for God's sake blaming these dj's for a woman's suicide is far worse than the crap prank itself.

She apparently hanged herself.

I wonder if she (as others have) managed it with her hands tied behind her back?

Re: In defense of the Australian prank calling DJs
I have to admit...when I first heard about it I was soooo pissed at the DJs and thought they should be held accountable.

Then I started thinking...she obviously had to have had so much more going on in her life because this one issue is highly unlikely to have caused her to go this far.

Then I started thinking about the hospital where she worked, they say they fully supported her, but would they really tell us if they raked her over the coals for patching the call through to the Duchess' nurse? No they would not. They would not want to have any accountability for something like this happening to one of their employees if they did in fact punish her at work.

Then I started thinking about the DJs...how could they have known? And if they would have known would they still have made the call? No, they wouldn't have. They were doing what they needed to do to get people to listen to their show.

Went back to thinking about the nurse again and thought if she
was having mental instability issues being a nurse she would have known where to get help. She would have known what her thoughts may lead her to do. But ultimately she chose not to get the help she needed and chose to commit a very selfish act leaving two children behind. I cannot see how a mother would leave two children behind.

All in all it is a tragedy but its really not the fault of anyone but herself. She is the one who killed herself and the DJs had no idea what that call would lead to.

Re: In defense of the Australian prank calling DJs
Tis true that the suicide cannot be blamed on the DJ's. But why did they think it would be funny to try and get to speak to a woman (Kate) who was obviously sick and maybe worse (miscarriage). That was the sick part of it all, and the fact that they did not seek permission to use the prank call,as is I beleive the normal practice, where the blame and possible criminal element lies.

And where is he evidence it was suicide? She was found dead in the stree with no signs of trauma, no witnesses who saw her hit by a vehicle, no drivers who have came forward and said they hit her and so far, no CCTV footage released showing her. Ask any Englishmen, there are cameras everywhere.

Re: In defense of the Australian prank calling DJs
I've copped a fair bit of anger from my own immediate family over my take on this. That being the only person who is at true fault here is the nurse.

The DJ's didnt kill her. Sure, they may have added some stress to her life, but they didnt pull a trigger, did they?

She would have been hauled over the coals by the hospital administrators, all the while reminding her of who their clients are... and lets face it, who gives a flying fuck about the royals. I respect their right to privacy, as people, but the royal aspect means nothing to me.

The hospital did not have anything in place to allow her to make a correct decision. There was no protocol, so she did what she thought was correct in the absense of it.

The media were all smirking about how funny it was. I know this because I saw probably (10) different services have a chuckel about it. They would have attacked this woman too, relentlessly reminding her of her gaff, and who was involved.

The call didnt kill her. She killed herself, but she was probably pushed over the limit by her management and the british media.

- who have all now conveniently blamed two 20 somethings all the ways over in OZ. Their show is crap btw, but it's very sad that a simple prank has resulted in a death.

We have a great sense of humour here in OZ, and this type of thing goes back decades. Some older Aussies may recal Norman Gunston, who went one better, actually getting himself into sensitive places, like 10 Downing St, the #2 guy at the FBI's office, numerous movie stars homes. It was funny as hell to watch. I'm sure there were security reppercussions, but no-one, to my knowledge endd their lives over it.

The young'ns here will not work in the industry again. They're sad as hell, and genuinely sorry as all heck.

Doesnt help the family of the lady however. I reallt feel for them. Surely more was going on than meets the eye.

The brit media and the hospital admins have a lot to answer for...

Watching the news today (14th Dec) there was yet another article on this.

Interestingly, as soon as the news readers meantioned her laptop, the feed was cut. "Technical difficulties".

Maybe there is more to this?

All they did, was pretend to be the Queen, asking to talk to Kate about the bub.

She put them through to the ward nurse, who did the actual talking.

Apparently it has more to do with 'shaming' her family name than anything else.

Bullshit, more like relentless pressure from the hospital admins and that shithole of a palace.
(the cause of more deaths than any other royal family)

Why would a woman leave her husband and kids alone at Christmas?

More to this. Not saying conspiracy, just saying there are others who have skirted any scruitiny.
