"You did not choose Me, but I chose you"
John 15.

You proud churchbots who go around claiming that you *chose* God need to try and get a clue, because you've reduced salvation to a Pharisaical work of the flesh. Most of you actually think you've *done* something, and have missed the entire point.

Not only is Babylon falling - so is Laodicea.

But ask our True Christians around here, and they'll tell you - "I, for one, choose to believe in Jesus" or somesuch nonsense. This is why the "lost" are so very wicked, because those folks consciously reject that "choice" and therefore deserve endless agony. It's all airtight.

NO one comes unto Jesus UNLESS the father first DRAWS them according to scripture..

So if you are NOT DRAWN..what fault is that of yours?

Its up to GOD who is drawn.

Paul was on his way to go slaughter a few more christians. Serving Jesus was the LAST thing on his mind..HE DIDNT CHOOSE Jesus..Jesus KNOCKED him off his horse..BLINDED him..and CHOSE HIM....BY FORCE.

Where was the FREE WILL there?

I interpret the call as people choosing to respond to a call, whereas chosen I interpret as being more than just the choice of a man to respond to a call.

Killer verse. The best part is that the Greek word for "draw" there literally means "to drag". Paul used it when speaking about being ragged into court. It's not optional.

Not only chosen for salvation...chosen for sanity. Daniel 5...who would choose to give up their sanity. Nebuchadnezzar sure didn't choose to give up his sanity...it was taken, by God, and given back to Nebuchadnezzar seven years later. To me that is a sign about who is in control

Many are called, chosen are a few.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15993935

And Jesus concluded, "Many are invited, but few are chosen."
(Matthew 22:14)

meaning the following: from Clarke's Bible Commentary

Many are called by the preaching of the Gospel into the outward communion of the Church of Christ; but few, comparatively, are chosen to dwell with God in glory, because they do not come to the master of the feast for a marriage garment - for that holiness without which none can see the Lord. This is an allusion to the Roman custom of raising their militia; all were mustered, but only those were chosen to serve, who were found proper.

It is up to you!

Then they aren't true Christians (so don't call them that).Lord willing, read my thread "My Testimony". Father called me, when I knew absolutely nothing about Him, nor gave Him any thought and I can't thank Him enough for it.
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Mark 16:16 KJV
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:6-9 KJV
6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Matthew 15:8-9 KJV
8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Acts 5:29 KJV
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Yes - the point is that stone-hearted mannequins need to abandon the grand posture of the Pharisee whose prayer was "Thank Thee, O Lord that I'm not like that horrid Publican over there."

Most religious people have turned redemption into a work of the flesh, and go around claiming to have chosen God, as if they're somehow the Author of their faith instead of He.
