Moon through my telescope..UPDATE...Added close up of Clavius crater in HD and Jupiter..page 1

What sort of camera and what lens did you use for that?

Here was the waxing moon with Jupiter (and her moons too!) I captured last night with a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 50/500. Still learning a lot, but fun as heck:

It looks like high moisture in the air tonight..they have a haze and its almost a full moon, tonight would have been a good test. I made a mount for my new camera, but the weather isnt looking good

DAM...i retract my last statement, walked out 10 minutes later and the sky is clearing up...maybe those plane trails cleared up the sky...it was really a lot of haze clouds, now they have all but dissipated, the moon is coming up on the horizon, not high enough to get good footage though, Its still too low on the horizon and that will give me a lot of atmospheric distortion in the video, i will have to wait about another 2 hours or so.

NO-GO on filming the moon tonight with the telescope...they have way too much moisture in the air...atmosperic conditions will look like garbage with the new camera. Sorry, but i will keep an eye out for better weather to film under
