Hi Meow. I am praying for your sister. I hope you will consider the advice from the AC who suggested having your sister tranferred. It can be done! I was a little disturbed that you said "they won't listen to me". Please consider calling the other hospital or speak to the director of nursing at your sister's hospital. You and your sister are in my prayers.

I am so sorry my friend. Hope she wake up. I know of a chiropractic story that made the patient wake up. He adjusted her upper neck area where a nerve was pinched and the brain could not get any nerve communication and out of nothing she was there fully awake like nothing happened. Check, see and search your options.

Some coma patients are still able to hear you but can't respond.

You may want to try to ask her, if she can perhaps move her eyes in a direction, in case she may be responsive.

If not, there's still cases, of coma patients hearing you.

I prayed for her. But in case, she may not make it, and can still hear you, ask her to say the sinner's prayer. Again, if she can hear you, she can't speak obviously, but can still mentally say and repeat the prayer in order to accept Jesus.

This way, she can make it to heaven, if she passes.

possibly but that info could be confirmed easily enough, if it's in the head, it's either too little blood, too much blood, or something plugging things up.
fat embolo are bits of marrow fat that get into the bloodstream and get caught elsewhere, and cause damage to whatever they cut blood flow to, vascular emboli act similarly. they are hard to find and confirm, but are treatable. There is one precondition, for brain injury from these and that's something called a right to left shunt usually a hole somewhere in the heart that may not have healed from infancy.
The other prolem is if this was from anesthesia accident, you have to check if she was normal after surgery for a spell.

The tetanus bacteria enter the body through a wound that is contaminated with soil or manure. Puncture wounds place one at high risk. People with severe burns can also get the infection.

Symptoms usually begin about 8 days after an injury. The more contaminated the wound, the sooner the symptoms may begin. The first symptom is usually a stiffening of the muscles in the neck and face that makes it difficult to open and close your mouth. Problems swallowing, rigid or hard abdominal muscles, twitching, fever and sweating can also occur. In unvaccinated people, COMA , blood clots, pneumonia, and death can occur.

Don't let them turn off the machine. They tried it last week with my 98 year old gran after she stayed in a coma after an operation regarding a ruptured intestine. I prayed and told her to wake up ,just as they were turning off the machine....she opened her eyes.

my sister went through the same a year ago. the cause was necrotitus faciatious my spelling is most likely wrong. she lost her leg and arm but she is alive today. im from ames iowa, ask her doctor.

My prayers are with you and your sister, please don't stop hounding them doctors for answers. Bring things up ask a million questions don't stop.

When my Mother was ill I recognized the signs of rising co2 levels and even though the doctor refused to listen to me they were going to release her, I demanded tests be done. I told them I won't stop until they listened, they relented and did the tests and came back to me and apologized saying I was right, my mom would of been in a coma with in hours had they not listened. My point is DO NOT hesitate even if you think you may be wrong.

When you say rehab was she in a living assisted facility for rehab? she may have a septicemia (spelling?) from a cut or a bed sore. tuberculosis from living there, throw those out to the doctors and demand them check for that.

I am so sorry you are going thru this and I will pray for your sister

i cant give you enough prayers im on my knees as soon as im done. tell her doc it is necrotitus facitus. she is prolly on a vent with a low bp and high heart rate.

Meow, Stay at the hospital as much as possible. Ask questions, take notes. Find out when meds they are giving her. You will annoy people, they don't like questions - but it's your sister's life, remember that everytime you have to approach the nasty head nurse and don't feel like enduring it again. Use the computer to find out what they are talking about with her condition - and her meds.

It doesn't matter what you don't know, there might be one extra question you could ask that could save her life. If doctors come thru on rounds, wait to be there by her bed when they come, even if you have to sit for hours. Talk to the doctors. Don't necessarily rely on her daughters or the doctors or anyone else. Act as if her life is in your hands.

I don't think you know nearly enuf to tell her that. She needs to find out everything she can to ask the doctor appropriate questions to her sisters situation. Asking because of a random post from the internet could make her lose credibility in the doctor's eyes.
