I have received many a package this way and they have always arrived in reasonable time and with tracking. Perhaps it is your location, maybe off the beaten path??? The service is only available by contract and UPS makes the decision if the final deliver will be made by them or handed off to the USPS. Again, I believe it depends on your location which way they go? |

The original poster should post their tracking info so we can see where the delay was and whose fault it was. In theory, all that should be happening is that UPS drops the package off at the local post office and they deliver it, rather than UPS delivering it to you. |

In any event, I am sure the decision is based on pricing, which is based on weight and delivery location. If it is shipped to a business, UPS will generally handle it themselves. It's residential deliveries where you have a surcharge and UPS prefers to have the post office take care of it. |
