Fucking Menow! You are still there. I remember you when you debunked all Nancy's posts on GLP a few years ago.

Beware! Karma is real.

Like I said, “Scientific discoveries happen because brilliant minds want to know more about an observed phenomenon.”

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

One more time, for clarity. If these people had truly observed AND RECORDED, in some way, the previous position of a sunset and are now observing a change, which they are also documenting, then they might have something. As it is, they are thinking back, in retrospect, and saying that they REMEMBER the sun being in a different place. See the difference?
 Quoting: Menow 18943200

I do agree that all of us claiming to have observed a change in the sun's position should now - from this point forward - record the observations to document it.

But to debunk these observations because there is not currently photo evidence is unreasonable - how could anyone have known in advance to take a photo of a particular window at a particular time every day for years? No one could have anticipated that the sun would change position.

deconstructing empirical - or observed - evidence that doesn’t fit into your rigid construct based on current 'documentation'.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

By the way... what these people are reporting is not really about what they observe at all. It is about what they claim to REMEMBER. What don't you understand about that? If they really could go back and "see" what the sunset looked like on a given date in past years , I daresay they would be shocked to learn that it is in the same place as now. That is I why I keep asking for pics from previous years and WHY I PROVIDED SOME. Get it?
 Quoting: Menow 18943200

People don't "claim to remember" whether or not a deck ever had sun - either a deck gets sun or it doesn't. Either the sun has been visible through a particular window at sunset before or it hasn't. Either the sun has hit a person's recliner every day for 10 years or it hasn't. Either a garden plot gets sun or it doesn't. This is not about memory.

It doesn't require a PhD to make valid observations about one's environment, especially when it is a home with which one is thoroughly familiar. And it is nonsensical to ask for photo documentation for this kind of observation...that would necessitate having had stringent criteria and controls on camera equipment set up for years to be valid, not random pix of backyard barbecues as you suggested.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

And this is exactly what astronomers (amateur and professional) do: They have stringent criteria and controls on telescope and camera equipment set up for years.

And none of the astronomers (amateur and professional) claims the position of the sun is off.
Au contraire - they all say the sun is exactly where it is supposed to be.

This brings up an issue that, without expertise in the field of astronomy, I have been wondering about Hydra. Not sure what your background is or if you can answer this but the question is:

There is much discussion of 'everything being exactly where it is supposed to be'. But when astronomers take measurements on the position of celestial bodies, aren't they made in comparison with other celestial markers? In other words, are the measurements being made of only what's going on in the sky or are they actually accounting for how the sky relates incrementally to earth markers?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

Of course they do. Read what they are saying.

- either a deck gets sun or it doesn't.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

You just shifted it into present tense. To what are you/they comparing what they see NOW? They are comparing it to what they CLAIM TO REMEMBER from previous years.

Either the sun has been visible through a particular window at sunset before or it hasn't.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

"HAS BEEN"- past tense- and how do you/they claim to know that? FROM MEMORY! No comparative pictures offered at all.

Either the sun has hit a person's recliner every day for 10 years or it hasn't.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

Of course it has or it hasn't. How do we determine what it USED TO DO? From THEIR MEMORY!

Either a garden plot gets sun or it doesn't.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

Sorry? "GETS SUN"? You are back to present tense again. If anyone wants to claim that their garden currently gets sun, I doubt they will get an argument. On the other hand, if they claim to REMEMBER that it USED TO get sun, how do they know that? Ummm FROM MEMORY.

This is not about memory.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

It certainly is. See above.

It doesn't require a PhD to make valid observations about one's environment,
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

Observe away. No one is objecting to what these people OBSERVE IN THE CURRENT TIME.

especially when it is a home with which one is thoroughly familiar.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

What does familiarity have to do with observing whether a garden plot is getting any sun?

And it is nonsensical to ask for photo documentation for this kind of observation...that would necessitate having had stringent criteria and controls on camera equipment set up for years to be valid, not random pix of backyard barbecues as you suggested.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

Nope. All you have to do is find a pic from past years, on any date at all, which shows a sunset or sunrise. Then, when that date comes around simply take a new pic from the same location showing a change.

Now... I took the time to respond to each of your specific points. Will you have the courtesy to do the same? No, you won't... none of you 'skytards' ever do.

I have been suggesting that for maybe 5 years. NO ONE has yet to do it. OR... they have done it, found that they were wrong, and never admitted it.

But to debunk these observations because there is not currently photo evidence is unreasonable -
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

On the contrary. There is plenty of photo evidence available. [link to www.katkam.ca] I have probably posted this link 50 times by now. It has rarely been acknowledged at all.

how could anyone have known in advance to take a photo of a particular window at a particular time every day for years? No one could have anticipated that the sun would change position.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29871220

I can't help that. It makes no difference WHY they don't have any photos. There is no need to have photos every day "for years", but Katkam just happens to have them. Take a look. All that is necessary, for starters, is to find ANY pic(s) from past years to compare or take and/or take a new one when that date rolls around.

On yet another hand is the absurdity of the notion that the world's astronomers wouldn't have noticed such a thing FAR, FAR sooner than lay-people and have screamed it all across the astronomical world. 'Skytards' just prefer to ignore that or say that all the astronomers are "controlled". Hah! Fucking hilarious!

Back with a vengeance, eh menow..?
Something ruffle your feathers...?
Must be some truth here... or you wouldn't be here obfuscating.

Everything is as it should be... because you say so.

So... what happens when mass migrates on a spinning, axial-tilted, globe-like object..?

Let's just postulate that this globe, with ice on the poles,
warms..
the ice becomes water...
then it migrates due to centrifugal force...

What do you suppose the effects would be on the orientation of said globe.. excluding all other factors..?

Is that what you are trying to bury..?
 Quoting: Waterbug

By the way... I think the effects would be a slowing rotation. I'll leave it to you to figure out why.

I will always put more faith in the observations of indigenous people who's very survival depends on the observation of their environment, who's very life depends on reading nature, knowing the cycles and reading the weather, who are dependent upon the stars and the heavens for navigation and direction so that they know how to get back home after a hunt.. when these indigenous people all over the world are saying the stars are off, the sun is off, the seasons are off.. we had better sit up and take notice...

I will take their 'expertise' over some preppy boy playing at understanding the environment through the comfort of his recliner chair and 1000 dollar telescope who only has to turn on his mobile phone app to find his way home and knows ZERO about navigation by the stars and ZERO about how to survive without any technology at all...

Indigenous people are the true experts... they know more about this world and that it is changing than any of these soft cock suit wearing, gubberment funded pseudo scientists who wouldnt last one single day in the wilderness..

Really?

So although people are telling you it's because it is WINTER you still want to believe something 'weird' is going on?

LOLs to yourself, pal.

Now do you really think people opening up here about experiences like this are idiots?

I'm 40 years old with IQ of 144 and I've been familiar with more than just the basics of astronomy since childhood. You think I would't be aware of sun's position changing during the time of the year? Come on, I live in a country where it's basically pitch dark half of the year because of this.

Don't know about others posting here, but the impression I'm getting from how they express themselves, they're not tards either.

So, we should all just believe what "people are telling us" instead of trusting what we see with our own eyes and can reflect upon years of experiences of how things have been before? Not going to happen.

Hell Yeah you said it!!!! I love how the narrow/closed-minded, love to spout out trivial facts, as if they have any relevance and/or bearing upon that which is. Truth be told, but which is the greater sign of ineptitude: someone whom is open minded enough to question the possibility, or someone whom refuses to believe that the possibility exists. I truly envy those whom can "keep their heads in the sand" in a vain attempt to belie the facts, despite the wealth of truth which proves the contrary...I wish I had that much self-determination; to be able to totally disregard the truth!!!

Please, all you narrow-minded, self-absorbed pieces of %^*&!!!stfu

Of course OP is right. Here in Mexico we can see the Sun going south. In fact its just a visual effect. Its the North Pole of earth going away from the Sun, paving thus the way to the 3 days of darkness in the N hemisphere.

i can understand that ppl say go google this and go google that and it will exp[lain things to you and tell you everything is fine....but isn`t the internet just a tool...can the information put on it not be changed to suit those posting it...if the sky turned purple with pink spots and they wrote that the sky was ment to be purple with pink spots and its normal - does that make it true just because the internet says so?...

...dont many of you say not to watch tv cos it feeding you lies and msm is full of sh** and not to believe it...how do we know that google and the internet is not infact the same??

still open minded

Yes, the Internet is full of lies. Lies like the Sun or Orion is in the wrong place. You need to tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

Here's a particularly nefarious site that explains the movement of the sun over the year.

No doubt the internet is replete with misinformation.
Doesn't make truth any less valid, 'tho.

Good thing you showed up.
Menow is becoming ineffective.

So... how do you explain the anomalies..?

I will always put more faith in the observations of indigenous people who's very survival depends on the observation of their environment, who's very life depends on reading nature, knowing the cycles and reading the weather, who are dependent upon the stars and the heavens for navigation and direction so that they know how to get back home after a hunt.. when these indigenous people all over the world are saying the stars are off, the sun is off, the seasons are off.. we had better sit up and take notice...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28946474

Are you referring to those couple of Inuit guys who live in modern housing and hunt on snowmobiles? How, exactly, are they dependent on stars for survival?

I will take their 'expertise' over some preppy boy playing at understanding the environment through the comfort of his recliner chair and 1000 dollar telescope who only has to turn on his mobile phone app to find his way home and knows ZERO about navigation by the stars and ZERO about how to survive without any technology at all...

How about astronomers with tens of thousands of dollars of equipment and several decades of experience?

Indigenous people are the true experts...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28946474

Heh... you wish... those Inuit guys are completely full of shit about the sky. Have any OTHER "indigenuous people" who make that same claim?

they know more about this world and that it is changing than any of these soft cock suit wearing, gubberment funded pseudo scientists who wouldnt last one single day in the wilderness..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28946474

Heh... there are tens of thousands of amateur astronomers all around the world who have zero affiliation with any government. Try to take a whiff of reality every now and then.

Sure she is. I guess you believe that Earth stopped orbiting the sun in 2003 and ever since?
