Double standards are really bad. BTW, Solomon was warned by God not to have many wives for himself but Solomon went against God and did it anyway. He ended up getting involved in their false religious practices and that was one of the things that led to his downfall. He wasn't a hero in the end. God only meant marriage for one man and one woman. We see what happens when people take on multiple partners. It is not a good thing mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically or energetically. We have the ability to do things but it doesn't always mean we should do them.

But the fact is that even if someone is not practicing anymore and regretted, the bad energy doesn't go away. The ones in the occult dimension will still torment the person of one way or another, trying to get him/her back, or trying to punish him/her for have left.

It's a terribly hard work to get rid of past involvement with occultism and it probably will consume your whole lifetime doing it, so the BEST decision is to "dodge the bullet" as someone posted before.

Energies can be cleansed and abstinence is needed if still single. It is best to ask Almighty God to help and guide us through what is best for us. He knows and will help if we allow Him to.

I think there are people who are evolved and people who are less evolved. I believe that there is evil in the world. However, what religion the person is has no bearing on how good of a person they are.
