I'm shooting for a two step here, by connecting first celiac and psoriasis then seeing for what I can do with cats. I love the immune system. So, I promise you at least two on topic posts when you return from work, unless I am banned..... [link to www.celiac.com] "Women who regularly drink beer may face higher risk of developing psoriasis, an autoimmune disorder that causes skin rashes and other, according to a new study, though beverages, such as light beer and wine, showed no such elevated risk. For the study, a team of researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Boston University enrolled 82,869 women who were not originally diagnosed with psoriasis. They monitored the women for nearly fifteen years, from 1991 through 2005. During the study period, subjects used the women Nurses' Health Study II to report their regular alcohol consumption, and any diagnosis of psoriasis. The results showed that even relatively small amounts of beer corresponded to an increase psoriasis diagnosis. Women who drank just 2.3 beers a week saw their psoriasis rates rise by almost 80%." The cat parasite Ascaris gets a lot of flack from the alternative community as a cause. Apparently enzymatic treatments are popular. [link to www.cdc.gov] [link to www.who.int] |

Quoting: Junkyard Lily So far as I know, had psoriasis his whole life, developed before cats.He is not allergic to cats. No idea about HPV as carrier. My one friend with HPV has no cats and no psoriasis. Healing, and good luck! Just curious. Does he have gallbladder issues like stones or no gallbladder? Such was the case with my friend's mom getting psoriasis at 90. |

Newsflash - psoriasis does NOT have anything to do with cats. Nuttin. Nada. I guess it might if you are a "conspiriacy" website. But not in real life. Man you people really really need to educate yourselves. And btw, I am VERY familiar with psoriasis in my family, talked to many dermatologists etc. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2793519 United States 12/11/2012 05:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had psoriasis pretty bad on both legs. I could never wear shorts or go swimming or anything like that. Sometimes I'd end up scratching my legs into a bloody purple mess. For me stress and bad diet were what caused the worst flare ups. To answer your questions I've never owned a cat and no HPV. I know you don't want to hear of alternative cures, but I have to mention this for anyone who suffers from this and is curious. Notice I said I "had" psoriasis. The only cream that worked was this stuff called Calm Cream that has MSM (organic sulfur) in it. Even after I removed the stressors and cleaned up my diet it's hard to actually stop scratching because it feels so good to do so, almost like a high (some of you should know what I'm talking about). The CC was the only thing that reduced the itching and helped to heal the skin. Sorry, I feel obligated to share that because it might help somebody. If anyone wants to talk about it I can leave an email. Peace! |

Ralph--a house dog User ID: 25802009 United States 12/11/2012 06:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | An older family member developed severe psoriasis in her early 60's; never was around any cats at all. No drug or MJ use, glass of wine once in a while, light smoker, normal weight and was physically active. Lived to be almost 90 and died of heart problems. The only other physical issue I was aware of was pernicious anemia for which she took B-12 shots. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1405546 United States 12/11/2012 06:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just saying, skin rashes from electromagnetic hypersensitivity can be misdiagnosed as psoriasis. The cell industry took off in the 1997-1999 tower boom era. Chances of a tower being erected near you is high during the same time the symptoms started for you. That could have very well caused the skin reactions. If you noticed it getting worse in 2003-2006, you should seriously consider this. Last time I post it. Good luck. |

I have Tinea Versicolor on my back and it is a constant struggle to keep in check. Skin conditions suck! Then again mine can just be cleared up with a pill if I wasn't so bullheaded. The problem is even when I wipe it out it tends to come back eventually. Last Edited by Gator! on 12/11/2012 06:07 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21627720 United States 12/11/2012 06:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Interesting thread. Had one outside cat for 12 years. She never came in the house. The year before the cat died, I had first psoriasis attack. The first psoriasis started when I stayed half-time at my niece's house-sitting during the time she had a two-year contract with a company outside the country. She had a cat that stayed in the house. I control what is a fairly mild rash by ingesting oil of oregano and by rubbing tea tree oil on the patches when I have a flair-up. Consider myself lucky since I have a compromised immune system from chemo treatments 20 years ago. |

Dr Einstein User ID: 29369511 United States 12/11/2012 08:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i have already stated that Psoriasis is the medical condition that the book says it is, and that cats and other stuff merely emit chemicals that either trigger outbreaks or aggravate the already active condition. but. there's still no good reason for any of you fools to have any pets at all !!!
