Why don’t you pay your taxes and insurance separately? Instead of an escrow account that way you can change insurance providers when they jack the rates

Our Erie policy just went up so my wife called to cancel the extra jewelry coverage we had.The agent told her that under our regular policy jewelry was allready covered up to 5k anyway....Why the fuck did he sell us the extra policy in the first place you ask? More money in HIS pocket, so read your policy with a fine tooth comb!

Sandy victims would have been better off if their houses burned down. Allstate is not paying out for flood loss. Got to love NJ.

Fight the increase. If you haven't had any claims, then they don't have a reason to increase your rates.

Our homeowner's insurance company tried to double our rates after 9/11, I fought it & I got it decrased it back down.

Pay your insurance & taxes separately.

My advice is to dump ALLSTATE and go with Adirondack.

A few years back Allstate dumped us with no explanation after we had been a loyal paying customer for 12 years!

We got a much better deal with Adirondack--- we saved $3,000 on our premium..

Good riddance Allstate.

Your Jewelry Floater policy covers mysterious disappearance. Most likely your HO policy covers up to 5K for theft, no coverage for mysterious disappearance and there is no limit to jewelry on fire loss. Also, $5K total of jewelry coverage may have a per piece limit. Check it out.

Re: Anyone have Allstate Insurance ? Huge increase added to my Mortgage
Having your jewelry as a scheduled item gives you coverage benefits that you no longer have. Let's say you go to the park and run some errands and later that night you realize you no longer have your diamond ring. If it is listed individually on your policy, you can be reimbursed for the appraisal value plus inflation. If not, you are not covered.
Another benefit is that if you have them listed you can pick a deductible for that item. So if you lose a $1000 necklace and your homeowners deductible is $1000 you are out of luck. If its scheduled you would have a $0, or $100 deductible.

As far as Allstate not paying out flood claims, thats not an Allstate issue. No homeowners policy will pay out for flood damage. That is what a FLOOD policy is for. Those are not issued by individual insurance companies. Its a government run program. Your homeowners policy was never designed to cover a flood.

Re: Anyone have Allstate Insurance ? Huge increase added to my Mortgage
Insurance companies are starting a huge monopoly. Its getting horrible out there, auto, home. Almost 45% increase from 2010. I'm sick to my stomach. This is with no claims, no tickets, no accidents. These people are vile. Insurance companies are just as bad as banks.
