Is Wal-Mart In Trouble?

Is anyone else's like this?

lets hope soo. do your self a favor and never go to that store again. you might just live longer and happyer that way

Not seeing it quite that bad here. I'm noticing shortages of certain products. When they do come in I buy everything on the shelf.

If you went a few weeks ago or the first of the month it may be that the welfare/ebt folks cleaned things out. The first of the month is when they get their money and go shopping.

Look, I know what you're going to say about their products. I just go there because it's really close to my house, and cheap on gas. I just wanted a particular brand of whole wheat bread that only they sell. But apparently, they can't afford to sell it anymore.

My neighbor is a walmart manager-he told me that when they remodeled to the "Blue" color scheme they cut out about 30% of the shit they used to carry.......

I've also noticed the empty spots in the shelves....this is Xmas season....store should be full o shit.

Now that everyone has got their big flat screens I think walmart & worst buy are in for a world of hurt this season.

I was in my local Walmart store this morning (that's where the optician is, it's not a Walmart company). Anyway, I needed those little candle lights for my front windows, so thought I'd kill two birds etc.,. not only did they not have the candle thingies, the Christmas decoration stuff was really bare. It's not late enough in the season for them to be nearly out of everything Christmas related. I avoid the place like the plague, just being in the store makes feel awful. The ladies working the checkout counters are ancient, that's depressing too. Why are they working at Walmart in their 80's?

I agree. I hate going in there. It almost gives me panic attacks. You've got the 80 year old retirees like you said (saw one running back and forth in electronics...felt so bad for him), the crowds of sheeple, screaming kids, and you can just sense how evil the corporation is. I do occasionally go though becuase it's conveniently located close to all the other places I need to go. It's too early for them to be out of Christmas stuff.

Why do you support a company that contracts 60% of all of its goods from china, the same company that destroyed small business's in your local town, only to rehire those owners for shit wages and benefits

In the back of my mind, I knew it would turn into this. You can never just make an observation on GLP without having to defend everything you did last week. It gets old, you know?

I don't support them. I go there when I absolouely need to because it's very close to our house. If I have an emegency, I go. In those cases, it's very convenient.

But, that has nothing to do with that this thread is about. It's about the collapse of Wal-Mart, which is strating to become evident.

1000's and 1000's of Christmas popcorn tins line the barren shelves, along with large, plastic storage tubs...stacked end to end, to fill the shelf vacancies!

I bet that popcorn will all go on sale for a $1 after christmas...A NEW WAY TO FEED THE HERD GMO CORN!

Hostess Brands produced a lot of bread. Wouldn't be surprised if your Walmart specialty was contracted to them and now gone forever.

God I hope so....Wal Mart Ruined our way of life in this country IMAO. This no frills way of doing business with all made in China Garbage and NO employees are full time = not having to pay benefits & tax breaks...Fuck em'!

I find the value brand bread is better than the brand name shit.
and way cheaper.
I find the name brand stuff is dry and tastes like crap.
Also the value hashbrown kick ass

I went to get some "green" toilet bowl cleaner. All they have now is lysol and clorox brands. They used to have like 6 other brands to choose from. But I found a SOG tomahawk for $20 and some good warm boot socks for my wife so I'm cool with that.

You do realize it's the holiday season don't you? I work in retail, and this is a normal thing. From my experience at our store, it is either sold out or it's an item that we are waiting to get in. What were you shopping for?
