As it stands now, if you wanted to work in certain occupations you had to be in a union and pay union dues. These dues were often spent in advertising and support of usually Democratic candidates that helped with the unions agenda. The worker had no say how his or her dues were spent. This was especcially frustrating if you were a Republican supporter. With the passing of this law, a person can choose to opt out of the union and dues that go with it if they so desire but still have the "right to work" in their profession without the union forcing them to join. You can opt to join or not, it's your choice. How people can't see the sense this makes and call this union busting, i just can't understand. |
