The San Andreas in California is definitely the next big one. But, it's not going to be in S.F., it's L.A. (or at least starting south of there). How far the faultline rips, well, THAT is the ultimate question. The Southern section of the fault hasn't moved since the 1600's ... and that's a LOT of stored up energy (1.5" per year times 350+ years). But, the longer the damn thing is locked up creates the slim, but possible, chance it could slip from the Salton Sea, to Cascadia (1500 miles).

AND THAT WOULD DEFINITELY BE SOMETHING TO GO OUT ON ...

Surf's up, dude.
