If the photo was taken shortly ago, it's Jupiter. No. There is a conjunction at Dec. 26. - Jupiter and Moon just 1° apart. . If the Moon is off, if Earth wobbles or if there is a pole shift how can things like this, predicted decades ago, happen? ![]() Annular Solar Eclipse - January 15, 2010 - Rameshwaram, India |

"December 21 is the winter solstice, and in 2012 the Sun on the solstice will be almost perfectly aligned with the plane of the galaxy (the Milky Way galaxy). What is astonishing is how precisely the Mayan calendar was able to pinpoint this alignment of the planets. ... The equator of the Milky Way galaxy (Galactic Equator) and the path of the Sun (the Ecliptic) will cross each other at exactly 11:11 am GMT on December 21, 2012" |

In a day and time of the free availability of such things as Stellarium it is almost unbelievable that people are still having problems knowing just what some of the most major things in the night sky are, The Sun, the Moon, Venus, Jupiter in particular. The photo is from yesterday, not this morning. The "Star" was/is Venus. In the meantime, at that time yesterday, Jupiter was way in the west and very close to setting. You can't see it in that photo but also up there in that region was/is Saturn, going up and to the south, and a bit further up was/is to be seen Spica. Today, if you were really lucky with a very clear horizon, you would have seen Mercury between Venus and the Moon. got to [link to www.stellarium.org] and download it, perhaps. |

You are a little jokester, aren't you? No date given, no time, no location, no Exif data. Could be yesterday or last year, could be dusk or dawn. Lots of conjuntions like this in a year. Nevertheless my fault - didn't look it up. At least I didn't say "Nibiru". ;) . Will this thing aling somehow on 12/21? Thanks in advance for the info. say high to Venus in her morning star aspect. and to Luna , Her older Sister. Jupiter is in opostion right now: rises with sunset and sets with the rise. She's on the other side of the sky. only when full will Luna play with Her Younger Sister Jupiter. i try and wave to Venus every morning: she will always be the brightest star in the dawn sky, just above Papa Sol. |
