Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21008556 I suggest praying for relief from the obsessive desire to continue in the insanity of addiction, and checking into a local rehab, and consider a 12 step program. If you truly want to get clean, you will. Dont give up. Be strong. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23224688 If you are anything like me weed isn't a good idea. Weed will keep you trapped in the vicious cycle. There is no struggle in surrender, only in holding on. Im not talking long term abuse here, just for use whilst OP is feeling unwell. The cannabis will ease his pain and symptoms in the short term, giving him chance to completely withdraw from the heroin, and will not give him unwelcome side effects or further addiction problems. |

Quoting: AddictedToInfo Avoid Methadone, you will be feeling great in two to three weeks but still raw.Concentrate on nothing but getting through this minute only, make no long term plans for months, be kind to yourself and figure out how to make amends to the people you saddened through your addiction.Change your freinds and become selfless and focused. It can be done and give god a look again,if you maintain the discipline to achieve this and you don't get bitter he will show up. Good luck |

No sleep, restless leg, Crazy sweating, Pain, etc. The worst was not being able to sleep. I was lucky that I had a script for Tizanidine (Zanaflex) a muscle relaxant that I had left over. It helped me sleep for a couple hours a night and it helped to stop the sweating, restless leg, racing heart, cravings I only took it short term though (about a week)to help me through the worst part of the W/D After that I starting taking Amino Acids 5HTP, Tyrosine, L-Tryptophan, B-12 complex, Vitamin C It took about a month for me to finally be able to sleep a good 5-6 hours a night and about 4 months before my energy levels began to return to normal. You can do it OP |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1110734 United States 12/12/2012 04:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Normally people going through withdrawal have the support of a medical team. It's common to prescribe benzodiazipenes. Doing it alone and without help is extremely difficult. You can expect to feel terrible for days. You most likely will experience vomiting, diarhea, then constipation, profuse sweating, nausea, etc. If at all possible, find someone to help you. If not then locate food and water and keep it close by to help you cope. Taking vitamins to infuse you with strength is recommended. You need a calm place to go through the ordeal. It will be enormously unpleasant, and you are likely to have terrible nightmares as you go through days of withdrawal. I hope you have people's phone numbers so you can talk to people through the long night. It's overwhelming for most people, and so don't burn out friends by calling them incessantly. Switch it up. It's very possible that your heart will be racing. Try to create as calm an environment as possible. Find good music to listen to, blankets to stay warm, some way of controlling the temperature of that room. You may very likely lose bowel control or vomit upon yourself, so having cleaning supplies and towels quickly clean up and dump elsewhere will help. You will be overwhelmed and won't be able to do much more than that. This is why you need a second or even a third person to help you. Try to shower everyday. You'll be delirious and doing some self-care will really help you slowly get back to a lucid state. Going through withdrawal is only the first step. You need to develop some healthy habits like eating right to repair the damage to your body. Exercise to help you purge the toxins from your liver and blood. If you can, find someone willing to give you a massage to help center you and to move the toxins out of your lymphatic system. There's a very high likelihood of some trigger making you desire to take more drugs. The best way is to avoid all of your drug friend, the people you scored dope from, anyone negative in any way, and make new reliable trustworthy friends. That's very difficult as you probably have broken all your bridges. It means starting over. New people will not know your past. Be as honest as you can with them and be a friend to them to attract good friendly people. People take drugs initially to feel better. They self-medicate because there problems are overwhelming. You still have all of those issues to deal with. Try to whittle away at them slowly. It's true, they won't go away overnight, but some tiny aspects of them will get better. When someone is mentally ill, then they think in terms of absolutes. They think, "People are all bad or all good. I feel terrible or great." Instead personally evaluate and think, "Well truthfully it's a bad day, but I am not in screaming torturous agony. It's not a one, it's a four. What can I do to make it a five so I feel normal." Slowly but surely rachet it up by listening to good music, eating something healthy and nourishing, reading something inspiring, etc. There are tons of people who have successfully gone through withdrawal. It is very unpleasant but achievable. Don't listen to haters. |

Its more like a bad flu. You cannot die, you just wish you could. (edit-unless you become seriously dehydrated. That is rare, but keep an eye on it. If you feel ill, seek help, IV fluids are wonderful) Never ever ever try alcohol withdrawl at home, that can kill you rather quickly. |

It has Loperamide in it, which is an opioid, but because it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier, you won't get high. It can be addictive though, like any opioid, so it's just to get you through the early jitters. Don't take it long term. You can get it at any grocery, walmart, drug store, etc. It's a diarrhea med. so look in that department at the store. Also eat bananas for potassium, a good multivitamin, and drink plenty of water. Maybe with a "real lemon" packet in it. It's a little packet of lemon crystals for flavoring. If it doesn't help or gets worse, go to the emergency room. Good luck OP. Hang in there. |

I've come off oxy and dillies before, and FUCK it can be like losing an old friend. Listen to music, get your blood going, it'll help. Number one thing is either charge into the pains head-on, or try to keep yourself immersed in something else like a movie or video game. Draw, paint, make something, anything. Can be tough, but you'll get through it. |

More if you can. Watch out for the ones from concentrate or with additives. Even better, get fresh young coconuts and drink the water and eat the meat. Also eat organic coconut oil. Coconut metabolizes the drug, cleans your organs, and flushes everything out. Plus it has nutrients. Truly a miracle. Look up coconut water and drug overdose. For pains, take hot showers and follow up with rubbing areas with Tiger Balm and Aspercreme. Drink distilled water & Pedialyte. Try to eat organic fruits & green veggies. SIPPING a hot toddy made with herbal tea and brandy may help take the edge off. |
