My brother is still out in the world doing this. He's tried, but the hold it gets, again, being told by him, is so incredible that he cares for nothing or no one (2 daughters, one,(new) grand son) but his next hit. Anonymous Coward User ID: 28847327 United States 12/13/2012 03:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I also recommend Kratom. In February, I'll be 2 years clean off dope, and kratom was my absolute life saver. You can find it at most headshops or online. If you can find some bentonite clay, it'd help as well, as it's negatively charged and attracts positively charged toxins to it for quick excretion. Don't replace the habit with methadone or soboxon... just as hard to quit. Might as well get it over with asap. You can beat this! You ARE stronger than the drug. Good luck OP! |

So just know that even if the next few days aren't a walk in the park, you're still in the better position!!! Hot baths, vitamin drinks, ibuprofen (may help with sleep, not sure about restless legs) first few days are the toughest and if you can pull through then you've mastered you vice! You take control, count minutes if you have to! Hearing pads, ear muffs and make sure to drink water because dehydration will make you suffer more.... Ill be praying for you! |

Mycelium User ID: 17882166 United States 12/13/2012 06:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i worked as a pharmacist for many years dealing with methadone dispensing in drug problem inner city areas. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29803264 one addict i remember recommended skullcap herbal tea to assist with sleep. id recommend trying valerian or skullcap or both. As I mentioned, I am a clinical herbalist. Skullcap is another big player in the protocol I mentioned. It is somewhat sedative (strongly so for some folks), but its biggest use in this context is for the "kick." The twitches, kicks and inability to get comfortable is greatly reduced by Skullcap. I also use it for Restless Leg Syndrome. Also, Skullcap is NASTY for most people unaccustomed to the BITTER taste. Tea is, therefore, not such a good idea. Use tincture available at Whole Foods or similar. Valerian is very, very helpful, but with a caveat or two. In high doses (which are needed in this context. 50 drops and up), it is stimulating first (maybe 30-45 minutes) then it sedates. For some folks, it is just stimulating. I find this to be true for as many as 1 in 20 of my clients. It is best used an hour or so before bedtime to let any stimulation pas s before hitting the hay. In combination, they are very effective, especially when added to the Passionflower I mentioned a few pages ago. |
