So they finally launched a rocket that works and a satellite too you say?

That would shift the balance of power and NK is not part of any treaty either..

So despite sanctions, lack of food, and materials they still managed it....

On board the rocket is a secret mini-space shuttle called the X-37B orbital test vehicle. It's an unmanned space plane, nicknamed the “baby shuttle,” which can land on its own.

Hey!, if North Korea wants to waste money, on launching Rockets, go right ahead!

Well what's sort of freaky is North Korea launching a rocket was one of the signs of the end, according to the remote viewers. Remember? [link to bitcointalk.org (secure)] Of course North Korea I guess has done similar things before this and those times were linked to the end, too.

Thought it worth sharing, though.

For those unfamiliar with the reference, in the game Homefront the following happens:
1.) Kim Jong-il dies.
2.) Baby Kim comes to power.
3.) Baby Kim launches a satellite.
4.) Baby Kim states this satellite will bring a "message of peace" to the world. The satellite deploys an EMP over the United States, knocking out electronics, the entire power grid, and totally cripples US defense.
5.) North Korea invades the US and the occupation begins.

So far we're up to number 3. Over halfway there.

Which would be highly illegal, the North Koreans have as much right as any other country to launch satellites , imagine Cuba shooting down everything launched from Florida > thats a direct comparison.

Do they really need another weather satellite? (with weather data publicly available from other nations satellites)

Probably not. It has other purposes.

But there are a lot of other countries putting secret things up there, and north Korea is a sovereign nation, and even in the worst case scenario they are still a puny power. One nuclear bomb would not win any war.

The other nations know where the satellite is and who is responsible. That's enough for the moment it seems.

I really wonder WHAT the payload was..A "weather satellite"..I doubt that VERY much..Why would a Nation the size of NK launch a weather satellite when they can just tune in the weather channel.
