On a secluded island scientists began dropping sweet potatoes in the sand for monkeys. One monkey figured out if you take the potato to water to rinse it off you don't have to eat the sand. More and more monkeys on his island began to see this and copy him. Once a large enough percentage of Monkeys on the island figured this out it became the norm. The scientists decided to drop the same potatoes on a different island, separate from the first but with the same species of Monkey. With no direction what-so-ever all of the monkeys on the 2nd island already knew to wash the potatoes in water first before eating them. What does this experiment tell you? |
