Major 969 mb low noreaster next week to impact East Coast!!!

this must be the year for the east coast...thanks for the heads up!! Even though I am far inland, nor'easters' always cause problems where I live...

NAO is trending negative until about the 20th (After Noreaster). Then beyond that likely is going to hang around neutral OR maybe SLIGHTLY positive. I don't know what Cantore is talking about? NAO will start to move slightly to neutral or BARELY positive but not until towards the end of the month. No biggy. Models are starting to really trend snow. He is right, with not a TON of cold air, but it should be enough for a snow event. PNA continues positive (strong pacific jet). This will give us the moisture, but NOT the buoyancy of a Western ridge and a deep cold arctic trough over the east. Should be more than enough cold air on the backside of that Noreaster to get some real decent snows.

MJO also heading into PHASE 1, which means colder temps for the east. NAO is WAY more negative than last winter could even DREAM OF.

If we can get at least a bit of a positive PNA for the west, the NAO at neutral or slightly positive will not be a problem.

Gales on coast would lead to Sandy ravaged areas threatened again

My husband has the outlet/plug (I don't know what it goes into, lol, something that is wired into the house lol) attached to a pole which I'm assuming it would be chained to but unless you're right out there watching it, I guess there's still a chance someone could take it. We're in a rural area, but who knows how much that matters.

I hate to tell you, friend, but 'JB' lost his last job (or left it willingly) BECAUSE they wouldn't hype ENOUGH when bad weather was coming and he knew.

Plus all the crap with "Global Warming" which he also disagrees with.

i remember reading (was it in "Old farmer's Almanac"?) that it wsa going to be a VERY COLD winter for NE.

Funny, tho, even tho it's not supposed to be particularly cold in the SE, my oak trees are shedding their acorns like it's the end of the world......wait.....

ok it's possible that this will be a non event, but at least you are warned...

Boy that Sandy sure finished with a whimper. No press reporting what the hell happened to all those displaced people. Heard that some neighborhoods were bulldozed and homes condemned and no help anywhere then poof.

When you say bombing, do you mean good bombing? Like lots os white stuff or crazy rain? Or bad like its not going to happen?

bombing means it's gaining stength in models, it's gaining more destructive power and pressure droping

Yeah, and now they've closed the inlet back up. Not a good move IMO.

And people wonder why I say prep. This is why. with people still being without power in some places on the east coast now this, just goes to prove that you can never be prepped enough just in case. I mean look at it here, we had nice 70 degree weather for over 2 weeks and now its 37 degrees, you just never know what will happen.
