One phased in, the other phased out, always ongoing. Problem is the first program worked best for patient care....... The current one is mainly for big brother to keep track of the employees. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 18340750 12/12/2012 04:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The company I work for is in the process of going from being a small garage type operation to a "real company." This has been an extremely stressful process for everyone involved. I know now why so many companies are victims of their own success...it is not easy to make the transition from small and doing ok to big and being very successful. We have had to add so much to our daily work: procedures, new tracking software, formalization, you name it we are changing it. We have had to hire new people into our little world and we are getting big enough to where office politics are beginning to form which is a huge change over the past 10 years that I have been here. It's not fun at all, it sucks and while I am happy that we are doing well as a business I really wish I could have my old job and old company back. |

I am the bad person who comes and determines how the new system should work, how everyone should use it, and then get everyone converted over on a very large scale. Sorry OP, it is frustrating, but you have to learn to accept and adjust..... |

I am a systems engineer/computer scientist - all I can tell you is that the changes did NOT come from necessity but from a whim of a few that have bent the ear of the pocket book holders... at least 3/4, if not more of the personnel have NO clue how to use this, night and day... |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 5073312 12/14/2012 09:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are alot of security patches now, some stuff is only used for 6mo to a year before some new critical vulnerability is discovered. Often times stuff has to be changed because hackers found a way to exploit the current system. I worked in an IT group and we had to replace alot of expensive perfectly working systems only because the vendor was pushing the mangagement to upgrade or else they would lose warranty/service support. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 13825301 12/14/2012 09:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was head of my department for a jewelry retailer. We did about $35 million annually in sales, mostly in the Caribbean. When the original owner died, the company began to re-structure. First, mountains of paperwork so the prospective investors can feel comfy with the math. Next, inventory insanity: track every paperclip. Next cut middle management and reduce pay to ridiculous lows. Next make the product cheaper in every possible way, increase all service/repair fees, and try to "recruit" new customers with offbeat advertising. Finally hire outside "experts" to manage individual production aspects. Give 13+ year employees new bosses who know nothing about the company. I left at that point, with my salary intact, and they came whining for me to return. I now work SMALL business, make more money, and have more creative freedom. |
