They really have no intention. They're just there. But my tires have told me that the Moon is a hologram.

I know what you are talking about with harmonics, the same effect happens on a stringed instrument, man discovered this thousands of years ago and we still do not fully grasp the sacred geometry to this phenomenon. Well I'm in the USA, but I'm pretty sure other countries have grooves in some of their pavements. The uniqueness of the sound produced by the tires depends on how the grooves are arranged. Closer grooves will produce a higher pitched sound. Farther apart grooves will produce a lower pitched sound, similar to a violin. The pattern of the grooves also affects the sound, as there can be several groove patterns morphed into one, which gives a multi-tonal sound.
