Quoting: Eagle # 1 29216719 Have you considered that tea, coffee and spices ALL come from overseas and would STOP ever being available, IF you survived the first few weeks ? How many people 'depend' on that cup of caffeine to get started; stay AWAKE on guard duty; keep their nerves in check ? Wouldn't it be wonderful to have MANY extra boxes of Lipton 100 tea bag boxes, a dozen tins of coffee and spices to trade to all those who DIDN'T think about it ? Besides, they DON'T spoil for a LONG time, especially if NOT opened ! Also good for 4-5 years are extra batteries for flashlights, kerosine lamps that can burn vegetable oils, AND strike anywhere MATCHES ! Been working on this for over 30 years, as I KNEW from a premonition in 1980 this would happen, but not just when. PLUS, my premonitions have not been wrong for 62 YEARS ! Eagle Respect for you! |

The life of a drug dealer involves getting ripped off and broken into a lot, do you really want to sell coffee? Personally, by day two I would have scaled the outside of your house, killed you in your sleep, and taken the entire stash of lipton. |

With no electricity, NONE of the gas pumps will work, but there will be plenty in the large storage tanks below the ground. I have figures a way to get it out .... have you ? I like my coffee but in a life or death situation I couldn't care less about coffee. I care more about heat and clean water at that point. Fuck coffee and tea. |

We all have to start somewhere. Get the soil tested by the local uni extension or somewhere to find out what nutrients you have already and what is still needed, then you can start an adventure down buying what you need or magically trying to compost the right things for the right levels. I've had good growing years and bad with a series of helpful neighbors that always knew what they were doing more than I did. |

Other things are more important, right NOW ! IF you lived the First Depression, you wouldn't be that apathetic. It was scary, even as a child with hop real things to worry about, except Dad coming home and I didn't hoe the weeds in the garden or water the tomato plants;still remember, one pint water per plant.
