yup, you have to be going pretty fast to maintain orbit. With no air resistance to slow you down though, once you get to that speed you it is very easy to maintain. If this is spinning out of control though, they won't be able to make the correction burns to keep it up for decades. So this will be up there for a few years tops.

Some scientists in NK are probably going to be getting the axe, literally.

Yup, it passed apogee and is now on its way back down to perigee, after it passes that it will be on its way back up to apogee.

If you look at the satellite track, that interval in the red lines of its track will not change. You can predict its next couple passes over North America.

Hell, on its next pass over the US you should be able to observe it in the east side of the country. I might even be able to in Chicago, although I think we are overcast here right now.

If it stays up there for long isn't it at risk of crashing into numerous other satellites? Seems like they would shoot it down in a controlled manner.
