GMO foods are developed in first world countries which feed countries like yours and other third world countries.
Cutting edge pharmaceuticals, biotechnology stem cell research, and biological implants are not developed by those in the third world, but fortunately, the technology eventually filters down and the lives of the weak are spared.
An economy that has moved away from the polluting industrial ages of half-a-century ago to a high technology, chemical, and space based economy is a wonderful development for the unskilled labor of the third world, like the maquiladoras utilized by Canada and the United States.
The assumption that there are nations at this point in history is hubris at best, suicidal at worst. The pie has been divided, the plates set, the table ready. There are those that sit at the table, those that serve the table, and those in the sweltering kitchen.
Do not despair for your nation. If not working in the kitchen, the only other option is disposal.
We have already decided whom to dispose, and it is not your nation... yet.
