I have enrolled in about 12 different courses, focusing on computer programming. The naysayers are so ignorant, I don't know where to begin. Gaining applicable knowledge and skill which you can demonstrate in a workplace is more important than gaining a degree. Receiving certificates from these courses can not only give you a huge head start in learning that will allow you to breeze through "real" college courses; but, it is very likely to count towards a written consent alternative to prerequisite requirements in community/technical colleges. For people who want to learn about programming, it's excellent. Personally, I study programming in college primarily because of my own personal interest in the subject and getting a degree is secondary to my desire to learn about the subject for personal use. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29335662 The equivqlqnfybqs a vocational might help in an interview - until a real College graduate turns up, so again It is a con. Only peollle this would work for is retirees, the totally bored and the unemployed, so what are promoting is fool's gold. It never hurts to expand ones mind. :) GLP EXPANDS THE MIND...... ;) |

I've paid money and spent driving time just to audit courses that interested me; it is so much nicer to have more online options like this. Good variety of courses. Thanks OP. Many people like to explore new ideas or get in depth information on things that interest them even if they don't see a monetary benefit. It's kinda like growing flowers -- you can get a lot of pleasure from looking at them, smelling them and watching them thrive, even if you don't cut them and sell them to a florist or at the farmer's market. I found the site to be easily navigated. The course material wasn't too far advanced that someone without prior knowledge would definitely be able to grasp every concept put forth. Even if you are familiar with the information, you still learn quite a lot. The video lectures were broken up, no more than 10mins each with the ability to download and watch at your own convenience. There was a multiple choice test after each week based on the material presented and I found them neither too difficult or too easy. Overall, an exceptional experience and I have looked into taking further courses from this site. Thanks for all the great responses and if anyone has taken or is taking courses from this site, let us know how your experience was. ![]() |
