One of the most fucked up movies I've seen by far. I particularly enjoyed the nephilims underground in the hollow earth demanding blood sacrafice.

The stoner wasn't a nutjob, he was the smartest guy there.

actually for joss wheddon i thought it was a bit weaker than expected.

but it was still good & kinda interesting.

The movie is best watched as if it's an essay on horror films. It also serves to explain why all horror movies exist.

The explain why the same cliche group of kids is killed everytime.

The explain the dumb traits the kids always exhibit in each movie.

They explain all of the crazy cliches that always happen in horror movies.

The best part, and also the dumbest part depending on your perspective of the movie, is the Gods at the end of the film.

They demand the same blood sacrifices over and over again, and get angered and end the world when it doesn't happen.

This represents the paying audience who demand to see the same shitty ass horror movies over and over again, and who don't go to see anything different or new or exciting.


The movie as a movie is "meh", but if you watch it thinking its an essay on horror films I think you'll enjoy it alot more.

It does also touch on some of the occult myths & concepts as Wheddon does in all his works with the exception of Doctor Horrible.

they make him out as a nut nob into conspiracies but like you said he is right in the end. the whole movie is disturbing, not as a movie, as the storyline is so cheap. but the it tells a different story if you know what I mean, ( a completely different story about sacrifice)

the final showdown with alllll the monsters was a bit dull, though it did reminds me of Season 4 of Buffy, anyone else get that?

well said, Its not the story for the sheeple I'm interested in but the story of the untold, only the awake understand, the majority see it as a horror :(

my girlfriend seen this movie with me and says it was a bad horror, nothing more. Its hard to explain 5 years of research on the occult in 10 minutes. she is ignorant to the facts like 95% of this world. its entertainment in her eyes and a completely different story in mine. her concentration dont last more than a few minutes like most.

the more you believe your statement the more we are fucked, thats whats wrong with the world. peolpe think its cool that they're savior will save them, there is as much proof of jesus as there are of unicorns and little people with pots of gold. its like saying 'I understand whats going on in life, very few others do, but i'm not going to try teach them.....its up to JESUS.

i thought it was interesting how the technicians talked of a 'glitch' originating from 'upstairs' (as opposed to the main focus on the entities 'downstairs') .. i would have liked a bit more expansion on this angle
