How hard would it really be to make something like this DIY style?

Or why not build an old-school "bucket wheel" contraption that drives a shaft and gearbox hooked up to a generator?

still got the remnants of mine , but don't plan on ressurecting it unless emergency.

high maitenance, they only work when conditions are just right for them and they aren't nearly as good as solar or wind.

they have been around for the longest of all alternative power but never really took offf.
