I don't know how easy it is to get citizenship these days, I am from the middle east too... Getting citizenship happened fast for me, but that was 20+ years ago and I was a kid... it took my grandfather 7 years to get citizenship in America... he started in like 1996 and didn't get it until around 2003. But things might be different for you. I don't necessarily recommend America in terms of truly being HAPPY, but, it's certainly not the worst place in the world to live. And it's probably easier to get citizenship here than in any of the good European countries. Ultimately it's your decision and you'll have to take money into consideration. At least your money will be worth more in America than in Europe. I say, come on over if you're ready!

Actually Canada is much easier with asylum. Incoming Gypsies go to Canada. It was just in the news some going from Mexico through California to Canada where they are given lots of benefits, not possible in USA. In USA you will receive a hard time for work and money. You mean like political asylum? That isn't offered to everyone, you have to be from a country where there is unrest. You can't just get political asylum for being from a middle eastern country. I don't know about Gypsies / Romanians. I don't know what the situation is with that but the OP isn't Romanian anyway. I'm sure Canada is probably a better place to live though. As far as welfare and government assistance, it's unclear if the OP has money or a degree or whatever, she might not need it. For my situation, political asylum was not an option either, and my parents would have probably scoffed at the idea anyway.

Not true, the people who built Dubai are now here in Alberta building the next phase of the Tar Sands, but they have trades like pipe-fitters and iron workers. I doubt that any citizens of the UAE have any useful skills.

In big city areas, a large number of convenience store/gas station employees are from the Middle East. The bad news is that convenience store/gas station jobs in big city areas are on the dangerous side due to criminals with guns. The good news is that convenience store workers who don't make a lot of money can get free health care at the area's Community Hospital/Emergency Room.
