Possibly they will be forced to mount an emergency operation with the US and Turkey forces - and, why not, with Russian ones - to isolate the area around the chemical weapons and to take them out of Syria, with the side effect of wiping out most of the al-quaeda connected forces

More possible is that chemical weapons threat is a great excuse to carpet-bomb Syria Libya-style while helping al-quaeda connected forces in "liberating" Syrian cities.

You know I have also pondered this as well. If American troops can train Russian Spetznas in Coloroda then why could we not launch a joint operation to seize the chemical weapons. Trust me, Russia does not want Syria using chemical weapons because that would assure Assads collapse. I also agree that one of the side effects of this operation should be that the Al-Qaeda factions of the FSA are bombed into oblivion.

That's actually NOT true -- certainly only to a small extent.

Western/Judeo-Christian Civilization was WELL on its way to "modernity" for at least 500 years --- when taken in the contect of Middle Ages that preceded, and certainly not without, um, bumps and set-backs.
