UK Government gives go-ahead for fracking
Edward Davey, the Energy Secretary, this morning lifted a ban on the drilling for shale gas, which was put in place after the UK's first project near Lancashire caused tremors last year. His decision will allow companies to explore for the new energy source across swathes of countryside in the south, north-west and north-east of England.

The first company to drill for Britain's shale gas – Cuadrilla Resources – will now be able to resume its operations near Blackpool, with new controls guarding against the risk of mini earthquakes.

well this is super bad news for such a little island squashed full of people . Where do they plan on getting clean non toxic drinking water from once they contaminate the water supplies.
Here in OZ they plan to frack around Sydneys main dam . I mean really , direct targeting of the water supply

Do you claim against the train company when your wating at the station and a train goes past? they are after all bigger than the quakes released by fracking, I say released because the earthquake would always happen.

Well, given that they have been handing out drilling licences around here to drill in our ancient woods for the oil under the downs I am not surprised this has got the go ahead..

Married to the idea (MOU) of getting geothermal power from Iceland it seems someone wants to ensure Britain maintains a sort of energy independence and given the recent piddling in the Euros pond I am not surprised.

Re: UK Government gives go-ahead for fracking
they've only done this to cover up the NATURAL tremors

you know? from the headfucking doom that's just around the corner?

they want us all kept in the dark, and blaming each other, for as long as possible, till the last minute, so they can slip away unnoticed
