Unions negotiate contracts for their membership. That membership pays dues to have the UNION represent them. You don't wish to be a Union member then go to a non union shop. No one is forcing you either way. But don't you dare tell me that you have a right to work beside me in a Union shop with the same contract and you don't intend to pay your fair share you freakin FREELOADER!

I am a working class mechanic, electronic technician, and non-union. I have done service jobs in many a union shop, from auto to aerospace. Jobs that I could complete in 4 hours have taken 2 days because I am not allowed touch anything, just advise.

Need a leveling jack turned? Call a union mechanic. Wait 1/2 hour for him to show, tell him what you need done, he leaves to get a wrench. Comes back 1/2 hour later with a 1" (just one wrench) when the nut is 3/4". Another 1/2 hour he is back with a buddy carrying a 3/4". But he cannot turn the nut because is is now break time. 1/2 hour later now three of them show up with the one wrench. There are 25 levelers that need adjusting, I have 3 union idiots with one wrench, and averaging one jack an hour. And the real pisser is I'm there because they do not have the skill sets to know why the nut needs adjusting.

FYI I buy Toyota's. After working in the unions big 3 I would never buy and American made auto. I'd love to be able to but I am not throwing away my hard earned money on a piece of crap just to support the American unions. Lazy, stupid, and incompetent, and overpaid.

As far as Texas goes remove the OIL factor and you would be right behind Cali if not in front of it. By the way the stats show that in the top 5 Right to work States the current rate of unemployment averages 7.7% whereas in the top 5 Unionized it averages 6.9%. Sort of flys in the face of the prevalent thinking doesn't it!

This sounds like my last visit to the doctor's office! And you think blue collar unionists are lazy? I know it's difficult for these people to see the bigger picture but the real point is, THE STATE IS BANKRUPT. They can either reform their wage and benefits or they can lose their jobs.

My healthcare is excellent. My non-union doctor is brilliant and caring. But I have had to work very hard to afford this level of care. Get off you lazy butt and stop sucking off the Government teat and you too could have excellent healthcare
