Re: Police Officer Wraps $100 Bill In Traffic Ticket
Well the ticket and the cost to register is probably more than $100. Why not let him go with no ticket and give him the $100?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8206693

They said the $100 was enough for the ticket and to renew both his wife's and his registrations...it was probably a $25 fine and $60-70 for two registrations...the cop still had to do his job and issue the citation.
 Quoting: BRIEF

WTF? The court costs ALONE here is $60.. That's not including the fine and surcharge..

Well here, if you get a ticket for no insurance, registration, or driver's license you get your shit legal by the time you go to court and the judge dismisses everything...the only thing you lose is your time...trust me, I have two brothers that go through this constantly...

I watched one of them get pulled over in my parking lot one day...I walk outside and ask what's going on and the cop was writing my brother five tickets! One for no proof of ins, wrong plates, no driver's license, no registration, and the last one for not wearing a seat beat...he went to court and only had to pay the $25 seat belt fine because he proved the rest.

Re: Police Officer Wraps $100 Bill In Traffic Ticket
A traffic stop in Plano ended unlike any you've ever heard about before.

It started when Hayden Carlo was pulled over for an expired registration sticker.

Carlo says he's been struggling to support his wife and two small children.

"You get paid, pay your bills, and there's your money. It's gone."

He told the officer he had no excuse for the expired sticker.

"I said 'there's no explanation for why I haven't done it, except I don't have the money.' I said 'it was either feed my kids or get my registration done."

The officer wrote a citation and handed it to the 25-year-old. Carlo says when he took it, he could not believe what he saw.

"I opened it up and there's a 100 dollar bill. I broke down in my car what else could I do."

The officer never told anyone about the $100 gift. But Carlo's grandfather, Billy McIntire, was so moved by the kind gesture he wrote a letter to the department.

If this story is indeed true (ya never know anymore) then, the $100.00 is more than enough to register your car for a year.
It doesn't cost you anything to appear in court. It only does if you're the one suing...it'll cost you filing fees.

Re: Police Officer Wraps $100 Bill In Traffic Ticket
This happened to me too, minus the cop giving me 100 bucks. both me and my wife were pulled over for expired reg. ugh..

ANd I, much the same as him, two new kids, broke as hell, so, you have to let these type of things go as long as you can and still try to be careful, or, you can pay it, have it done, but not have enough for the light bill.. so, which would you choose???

In the south, it works like this. First off, it's expired registration, not license.

They give you a ticket, if you pay the ticket (almost 200 bucks), fine. Still have to get it done.

Or you can show up in court, prove to them you got it done, and they dismiss.

The guy gave him enough money to get both cars registered, You have to have an inspection to get registered, so, that's about 25 bucks x 2 for both cars.

The cop gave him enough money to get it all done, and not be in trouble any longer.

Re: Police Officer Wraps $100 Bill In Traffic Ticket
...

They said the $100 was enough for the ticket and to renew both his wife's and his registrations...it was probably a $25 fine and $60-70 for two registrations...the cop still had to do his job and issue the citation.

WTF? The court costs ALONE here is $60.. That's not including the fine and surcharge..
 Quoting: 422

If he just pays the fine. Their is no court cost.

Whether you go to court or not you have to pay court costs.
 Quoting: 422

If the fine is $25 then that's all you pay.

These things happen more than you realize, because they don't want to be recognized...I can tell you too that the majority of those that give charity aren't Liberals and comes from people you would never expect to give...
 Quoting: BRIEF

Why do I think you make shit up just to post a reply? You write so general and ambiguously that you just come off very insincere.

Just where do you get your statistics or 'realization' from? What does not being Liberal have to do with anything? You never back anything you say up. You just post and go.

You are one of the most unauthentic members on this forum and I really want to believe it's just an Internet facade and that you're really a cool person, in person.

As a counselor I cannot disclose personal information about my clients...if you don't believe me I really don't give a shit, but I always tell the truth, often going against political correctness and in a blatant manner.
 Quoting: BRIEF

It's not that you go against the majority (which I happen to respect) but you claim things with absolutely no substance, merit or validity.
If you don't want to be believed, why bother posting?

And..you're a counselor? For whom? Death-row inmates? Because you hardly have the mannerism (let alone respect) of someone whose in the position of helping others but if you, we're in sad shape!
Again, I hope your persona on here, is a fake one and that you're really a decent person.

The court costs are added into the fine.

The ticket will be dismissed when he brings in his registration.

Registration is probably about $60.
