Why isn't suicide legal?

I dont know much about law but could you get arrested for attempting suicide? Never heard of that, though like I said, maybe there will be people in authority that will force you to live. Try going to a mental hospital, it will be near impossible to kill yourself. Cameras in the rooms, people on duty watching whats on the cameras even at all hours of the night, cant use razors and they make sure you dont have any drugs with you, people werent allowed to have blankets or stuffed animals there for that reason, afraid of people using them to smuggle razors or drugs in them. Checked through all the stuff that was sent to you and taking any potenntial weapons, my roommate got her thongs taken away because apparently they can be used to strangle yourself lol.

It needs to be taxed and regulated!

Actually there is a very good reason to keep suicide illegal. It's usually done by a person in a time of great emotional upheaval or depression which would pass, unless the person is gravely mentally ill, and leave the person in a fit manner to carry on his/her life and work towards a solution to the crisis. The illegality makes it possible for intervention during crises where suicide has been attempted - otherwise many good folks would be lost just because they temporarily lost heart.

I know two people well who both attempted suicide and failed. One in the 1950's, the other in the 1980's. They have both gone on to have good lives and their miscalculations (drug overdose) or just not having enough stuff to kill them, I don't know which, was a good thing. One died of old age in her 80's. The other is still ticking and living a productive but also loving and beautiful life.

Now there are some countries where a person who really needs to check out can do so legally. Switzerland is one. I believe that Oregon also has this option. So if a person has a fatal illness or other condition which makes life unbearable, they can take this step. Only the impulsive suicide needs to be banned.

ideally, kill a bunch of lawyers to go after them in the underworld, to be efficient, we should send a whole bunch

why not gather all the people who want to commit suicide in the world and arm them to the teeth, make a great army and rebel against the elite to defeat them, that way you would put your lives to great use instead of wasting it with a pill or a bullet and end up at the crematory for nothing

I can tell you by experience, having three family members that committed suicide that it is the most selfish act a human being can ever commit against their own children, other siblings, parents, and friends. There is something diabolical about it, I can't even begin to explain. No one knows what happens to someone who commits suicide, the question gnaws at the mind of those left behind, and for some weird reason will influence others to do it in the family. I think it is because when the body dies the demon moves on to the next victim closest to them with similiar emotional make up and weakness.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. So why not do this- pretend your dead. Give your life to God, and see what he does with it.

How do you know that you wont be put to jail for life when you are dead if you murder or commit suicide? H O W DO Y O U KNOW? You don't. KNOW one knows. Those are odds you don't want to bet on. LIke it or not, believe it or not no one knows for sure.

Generally in ways that cost you money to clean up. They dont go out in to the woods alone and shoot themselves and let the animals eat them. They generally wanna create a spectacle. A spectacle that someone now has to clean up.

Legalized suicide is liberal theology. Liberals say you have the right to kill yourself, to kill your unborn children, or to kill your aged parents. But liberals believe death-row killers are innocent victims.

Feel free to commit suicide. I guarantee that you will not be prosecuted.

And right on cue after i wrote the above post. The news shows a guy who just killed himself in the park. People thought cops killed him cause the cop told him to quit smoking in a park.

Then find out he was threatening his ex to kill her, her kids(their kids), and himself.

he goes to the park. He gets police involved. He wanted to make a spectacle. He talked about taking others with them.

This is the common psychosis involed with suicide. People suicide cause they are depressed. Depressed people need attention and they will seek that attention in death. In most cases they are gonna "show you."

Most dont wanna go bury themselves in a hole and shoot themselves without someone knowing. Id venture that happens very little if at all.

The sages say it is taboo. It is wrong. A suicide creeps people out who live in the vicinity of it. Why is that? Maybe there is a reason. Suicide is the darkest thing I have ever experienced and I experienced it three times. A cold wind blew into my gut while I watched them take away the body. Why is it so dark that way? It doesn't matter it just is and no one can possibly know why. It may be a superstition, it may be hell laughing.
