I also want to come forward to thank you for your generosity...all of you. It will be nice to be able to have a nice meal, especially for my son.

I hope to pitch in next year after my surgery, etc.

Hugs and love to all.

Share the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ!!!!
Do not loose this opportunity!!!

Some of you call yourselves Christians and your trying to call me out on my giving. That's to bizarre! I'm not going to let you black hearted people get to me in anyway. It's your choice to be the dark little trolls in life. My life? It's much brighter than yours. Good day.

He stated in his first post he is not Christian. He's a good person. You can be one without the other, as some supposed Christians on this thread evidence. But I am glad you are firm and happy in your faith.

THANKS OP

this thread is the first time I've felt some joy about the approaching holiday season

thanks for giving me hope in my fellow man

Pokerface...This is an wonderful thread! I agree with America mom..you have renewed my faith in mankind. I didn't think of giving a way a dinner which is an amazing idea. Also, do you need more funds? If so, please PM me please.

Your timing of this thread is interesting. I too felt like I wanted to do something to spread a little Christmas cheer today.

Since I had no idea what to do, I took my big furry loveable Leonberger dog to town and walked him up and down Main street. I had a bag of treats with me which I handed out to senior citizens and children so that he would do tricks for them.

He posed with many families for Christmas pictures and put lots of smiles on lonely faces. Its heart warming to watch how a big dog and a few treats can spread such joy.

Many Leonbergers in the US are used for therapy work. My boy Micah just turned one year old. In another 8 or 9 months I plan to have him certified to do therapy in hospitals and nursing homes. In the mean time we are going to continue to do a little freelance Christmas therapy, since it was such a big hit today.

Bless you OP for what you are doing!!!

Got laid off in Oct. Haven't been able to find work. A college degree is worthless now a days.

I have used all my savings up and now am struggling just to pay rent this month(Which is still unpaid as of today.

So, as for Christmas dinner? Probably not gonna happen since i am flat broke. I will settle for just eating in doors on the 25th.

If you're eating in the evening on Christmas day, then you're eating "Christmas dinner". It's not about what you are eating but more so who you're dining with and the state of mind at the time.

For all others btw... Please dont think its competition OP cause Im only trying to help those that will still struggle to buy.

I was shocked to walk into Target (which now has groceries) and they had frozen turkey breasts (on the carcass) for avg 7 bucks with a gravy packet ! Its a good deal when you dont want to buy the whole turkey. Im into marketing and I do food reviews, so its a little bit about me you all dont know.

Turkey = 7.00
Gravy = free
Onions french fried =1.99
Cream of Mushroom. 59 cents
Frozen green beans 1.00
Sack of potatoes = 1.99-2.50

Christmas dinner for 13-15 bucks

Hope this helped.. I saw this special at Target.

Your right. I can't argue with common sense. This topic today even took me off guard. The ball got rolling and it took off.

I'm happy to do this and even happier that I have the support from others to do this gesture of good will.

Because it makes me feel good and I know it make others feel the same way.

I've been floored by the responses to this thread. I have truly been humbled. A few tears and a little work, many amazing comments, has given me a different perspective and better gauge of how tough life is right now for folks.

I have no regrets in giving something above and beyond. Next year though, I will follow your advice and put something together that makes more fiscal sense.

Thank you for your input.

Hi OP ! Yes, it just takes a good eye, The Grocery stores sell very, very, very cheap often even cheaper than it costs them just to get you in the door. Believe it or not the Holiday meals are the cheapest so they get you in the door to buy other stuff thats more expensive. But if you stick to your list, youll come out ahead

King Soopers has a buyer loyalty program they send you in the mail btw. NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the SCAN CARD MANY ALREADY HAVE. This one is different
You get FOUR ITEMS they choose at rock bottom price for 31 days, all you want..

For example:

Marie Calendar Meals 1.89
Full size 32 oz Powerades 69 cents
Vitamin Waters, 59 cents.
Toaster Strudel 1.69

And for everyone, Milk is now only 2.19 cents a gallon at both King Soopers, and Safeway !

Speaking of gallon, I scanned my Safeway card last week and got 60 cents off a gallon of gas at the pump

Go to Walmart after Easter next year when they clearance the thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holiday hams

Premium, pre sliced, spiral hams with brown sugar and seasoning packets for as low as 13 bucks each....(that is for those not into kosher diets, lol )

Thank you OP, Its really heartwarming what you are doing, You are a good person ! I didnt realize you worked for that company, I hope I didnt place local competition in front of anyone, I just wanted to teach people to fish, cause I know many out there will not reach out their hand to you cause of Pride that prevents them from asking. Theres many families out there that raised their kids out of pride.

Ive been there, I was so prideful once that during the time frame of waiting on unemployment or when I was so flat broke, I had to donate plasma just to put dinner on the table.. but I couldnt tell my friends or anyone how bad I had it.

Pride keeps you from asking for help.

so I learned what 20 bucks could buy, about two nights worth of dinner till I could go back to plasma the 2nd visit while waiting to start work again

And to hear a kid wanting some milk but you had to tell them no milk to payday, it sucked..

Plasma paid for dinner back in the day, from my own body...

Your veins get tired, and I was no druggie. lol...

To me thats poverty..

So Im hoping I could help people budget, watch for sales, get to know the various stores, People get stuck at one store and they get a blind eye to other stores with great sales.
