The DSM is nothing more than an insurance claims manual. If you see a Psychologist or Psychiatrist they have to have a diagnosis for the insurance company or they don't get paid.
Just like going to your family doctor, there has to be a diagnosis in order for the insurance to pay your doctor.
If your doctor states on the insurance claim that "Patient came in with no complaints or problems and I found none.", he is not going to get paid.
