Jehovah's Witnesses....why don't they take blood transfusions, are they religious kooks?

what IS kooky is that they will break the blood down into its components and use them.

Let's see...you can eat the eggs, oil, flour, sugar, etc..but don't eat the cake?

Do they know they can have a hospital stock up on their own blood for a scheduled surgery?

Jehovah's witnesses Are like the scribes and Pharisees. They would of scorned David for eating the shew bread and the disciples for eating corn on the sabbath and Jesus also for healing on the sabbath. they cannot understand this verse:

Luk 6:9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

I believe bloodless surgery is good but I once had a teacher who was bleeding to death and they literally squeezed the tubes of blood into him to save his life.

So when Paul says to abstain from blood hes talking about eating and drinking it. Many witnesses have died because of this stupid superstition.
