how come americans earn so much money? | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 29776955 Luxembourg 12/13/2012 07:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Luxenbourg has the highest average income of all countries in the world at above $100,000/year. So WTF are you talking about? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4378940 what's the tax rate. the tax rate is relatively low: 15 percent BUT the living costs are SO fucking high. When I want to prepare dinner and buy food at some cheap grocery store, it costs me like 20-30 euros for all the food. This is just for dinner and I'm single. Imagine a whole family. Cars are practically impossible to buy for someone who doesn't have earnings. They look at your salary history. |

(dollars, lbs., and gallons :) sorry, but americans stubbornly refuse to think "metric". Sorry I don't know the non metric system but here it's how I know it is: loaf of bread: 2 euros to 2.50 (average white bread) meat at some walmartlike mall is like 4 to 6 euros and can rise up to 9 or 10 euros at some good store. (Local meat) The gasolin is the cheapest product we have here. It's very well known that luxembourg has one of the lowest prices in whole europe. I think it was like 1.50 euro/liter a month ago. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29776955 I don't have a university degree but even with a uni degree I wouldn't gain as much as you guys make a year (70 to 80 K). I read these numbers a lot here on glp.. HOW do you guys do this. That would be 46 -50 K a year. What a 1000 dollars bought back in the 50s takes 26,000 to buy today. It is called INFLATION and means nothing other than it takes 26 x now to purchase what you could have 60 years ago. Think Wiemar Republic and a wheelbarrel full of paper currency to buy a loaf of bread. |

So, do Americans not have an Idea at all how things are over here? And you are welcome, no worries, I don't think the americans are dumbasses. I'm not used to the non-metric system either. To be honest, I don't know if I prefer living freely in America and having more chances to get more money OR to stay here in europe with free healthcare BUT feel like a capitalist slave.. But well I shouldn't complain. At least we have it better than 3rd world countries. I make 23K Euro a year in salary. I feel like complete fucktwat. Lets be honest, I'd feel more broken in Europe with a tiny Apartment than in America with a big backyard and a big house. You don't see much big houses here in my country, just appartments, unless you are some rich bankster. Lmfao nice picture Chip. |

I have a degree and work for a school system - $42,000 here. It's chicken feed, really. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7570540 Yes my wife is a teacher also but when you add hers and mine we bring in close to 100k on a good year, and that is without overtime......I'm a electrician and 60k is pretty easy since I don't like overtime anyway. If I wanted to chase money and not live most the time at home I could make between 150k to 200k overseas, but that isn't my kind of life and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be married after long. |
