how come americans earn so much money?

the tax rate is relatively low: 15 percent BUT the living costs are SO fucking high.

When I want to prepare dinner and buy food at some cheap grocery store, it costs me like 20-30 euros for all the food. This is just for dinner and I'm single. Imagine a whole family.


Cars are practically impossible to buy for someone who doesn't have earnings. They look at your salary history.

Sorry I don't know the non metric system but here it's how I know it is:

loaf of bread: 2 euros to 2.50 (average white bread)

meat at some walmartlike mall is like 4 to 6 euros and can rise up to 9 or 10 euros at some good store. (Local meat)


The gasolin is the cheapest product we have here. It's very well known that luxembourg has one of the lowest prices in whole europe. I think it was like 1.50 euro/liter a month ago.

this is all very interesting. because we americans have
no idea about the european socialist government systems,

Teachers, policement, firemen, other public (government) employees can make that much because the taxpayers are paying their salary. And some of them are in unions that keep negotiating high pay increases every year.

Very true, I quadrupled my income once I became self-employed and it will only increase. I also live incredibly below my means and I'm not sure when I'll ever be comfortable buying a house.

Yes my wife is a teacher also but when you add hers and mine we bring in close to 100k on a good year, and that is without overtime......I'm a electrician and 60k is pretty easy since I don't like overtime anyway.

If I wanted to chase money and not live most the time at home I could make between 150k to 200k overseas, but that isn't my kind of life and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be married after long.

And they're money hungry little bastards.....don't forget.
